  1. I would suggest that you put just the heading undisclosed charge on the spreadsheet. The onus is on Natwest to explain their charges should it get to court. Anyone else have an opinion on this?
  2. Congratulations - i'm really hoping i hear something soon as well as mine was acknowledged the day after issue by A Rogers. That was on 3rd August.....fingers crossed.
  3. Hi Did they state the goodwill refund was in full and final stellement? I would only accept the amount they are now offering as part settlement and not full and final. I added the following into my LBA. 'thank you for your offer of £XXX as a goodwill gesture. I am willing to accept this amount only as part settlement towards my claim...etc' If you have not accepted anything in full and final settlement then i would say go ahead!! Claire xx
  4. If they have put nothing in writing to you regarding the loss of statements then I would proceed to the LBA. You should keep all correspondence with the bank in writing. They still jhave 14 days post LBA to respond and by that time should have had a chance to look at your statements. Hope this helps Claire xx
  5. Hi Maggie Good luck with your claim. I'm not surprised you are angry. Bank charges can be indiscriminate and unfair. One first thing though - have you spoken to them about the charges at all? As it is only over a one or two month period they may refund some or all of the charges as a one off 'gesture of goodwill'. You could still then claim any remaining outstanding as long as its not stated to be in full and final settlement. Sometimes if you speak nicely to them they may be able to help. I would start with your local branch manager and if no joy speak to someone at customer services. Just my opinion. If in doubt seek an opinion from more experienced members of the forum. Once again good luck with it!!
  6. Hi Guys Claim acknowledged by Mr Rogers Solicitor at Natwest (not Cobbetts) on 3rd August. I'm hoping it will go the same way as a few of the other claims have recently!
  7. If they've sent you the usual 'sorry but our charges are fair and reasonable and we will not be giving you your money back' letter then you can go straight to starting your claim as far as i am aware. I did.
  8. Hi Guys My Claim has been issued as of yesterday so away we go!! I recieved a letter the other day from Natwest Credit Card - it seems they have lowered the charges for credit card late payments and such like, from 25 to £12. I assume to come in line with the OFT ruling on credit cards. Apologies if this has already been mentioned i couldnt see it anywhere. I wonder if they will follow suit on their current account charges. I havent received any notification of that yet.

  10. Update.... LBA sent off today mentioning my acceptance of their kind offer on the grounds that it constitues part refund and that i will be continuing with my claim to recover all monies. I've sent it recorded delivery first class so giving them from tomorrow morning 14 days i calculate to be up on 31st July. If i get a p$%@ off letter before then i can just get on with my claim can't I? I have to say i am quite enjoying this!! never thought that this sort of thing could be so rewarding. Its a bit like cleaning - you don't want to do it but you get a real sense of achievement when it's done. Thanks to this site for all help received so far and for all the useful information on the FAQs and other threads...i'll keep you posted.
  11. I know they will withdraw the offer but i ought to say i will accept it as part payment of what is powed rather than intimating that i spit on their measly offer lol...?
  12. I have had my car insurance and my mobile one cancelled too without warning - i wasn't sure if it was the companies themselve or the bank.
  13. I get that all the time but usually next day - it got a bit silly a few weeks ago as i had three direct debits fail because of charges and then had a further three charges all in the same week of £38 pounds. and when you call to get some help with it they just tell you you should run your account responsibly.
  14. Before i managed to get my LBA out i received a letter today with the uysual sod off notice and offering me just under half of what i'm claiming as full and final settlement. So my LBA changes somewhat does it? I will be letting them know that i am happy to accept the amount they offer but not as full and final settlement and will be continuing to claim the balance. On we go!!
  15. Thanks for the advice - right thats it!! LBA going today!! When i called last week to find out if they had received my letter, which they had with a note on the system saying that 'customer feels charges are illegal' I believe unlawful and illegal have two seperate definitions, i was told that the bank interpreted the 14 days stated as working days. I guess i set the time table so in the LBA i will be specifically stating calendar days. Is this right do you think? Thanks for the hlpe Claire xx
