Thank you theoldrouge. It is not my point to avoid paying the debt, but it is obvious that I would prefer to pay only my debt, no the debt x3! So after sending them CCA request they are obliged to send me information back and then I can send them my offer? How does it work?

Hello there, I have a problem with Cabot/Mortimer Solicitors. 6 years ago I had an agreement with cataloque cimpany, the last payment I made was in July 2009. It was the time when I split with my husband and moved out abroad. My (now ex) husband has moved out as well to another part of England. I wanted to pay the debt and even asked The company to send me details of their account and how can I pay from abroad (the last letter was in November 2009) but my husband has lost his job and did not pay me any maitenance for our son. I have started a new job but I had to rent a flat, pay bills and nursury. It was really hard time to me so I gave up for a while and.. forgot about debt. They company hasn't contacted me since January 2010. I came back to UK in Autumn 2011. At the end of May 2015 I received first letter from Cabot asking me to pay over £900. First I was in shock and than I started to remember that I had a debt in the Company but for ca £300. I really want to pay the debt but not in the amount they ask me to. I've received few more letters from Cabot and haven't answer them so they have passed the case to Mortimer Solicitors. I received a letter threatening court action and a CCJ. I have 10 more days to respond and here is my question: should I send them CCA Request first or send them my offer? Thank you in advance for all your answers.
