  1. I have responded to MKPD asking for any documentation that would help clarify the situation. I have nothing that indicates I owe the alleged sum and it was MKPD's notation that it was a HSBC default on my credit file that alerted me to the problem in the first place.
  2. This is the latest information provided by MKPD concerning the the £583 they claim I owe. You have requested a Deed of Assignment. Please be aware there is no legal requirement to supply a Deed of Assignment. A Notice of Assignment was previously provided and is sufficient notice of an absolute legal assignment pursuant to section136 of the Law of Property Act 1925 (LPA 1925). I have never received any documention, does the above mean I am now not entitled to a copy?
  3. I dislike ringing as there is no way of verifying the conversation, I have emailed them and await a reply.
  4. I believe it was an HSBC credit card, I'm really not sure, there was a lot of pressure on the family at that time as my husband had been diagnosed with alzheimers and it is likely he used the card. I cannot remember if my name was on the card. If, as appears the debt has been sold to MKDP, should I contact them. I am reluctant to send my current address.
  5. I have just been refused a mortgage on the basis of a poor credit score. Checking with Equifax I found that a debt of £583 had been entered on 29/07/2004. The original debt was I believe may have been created by my husband, with HSBC, sadly he died in 2005 , the debt is now listed with MKDP Llp. The default date is 27/7/2010, just 2 days before the 6 year trigger. It was updated on 19/05/2014. I have no knowledge of the original debt, I have never received a claim form or a default notice. In fact I have never received any documentation regarding this sum from anyone. I have changed my address since 2004, but have always remained in the same local authority area, a fact recorded by Equifax. How do I remove this threat from my credit score? Thank you, 7blackdog7.
