  1. Hi. dx

No i didnt I carried on paying what I could using my income and savings, but the crap hit the fan about a month ago, first partner was off work then me. I tried to keep my credit record good but suppose in reality nothing getting better.

Just drawing up income and expenditure won't be much left with ssp could be off 2 or 3 month.

letters will be off this week.

    Cheers for reply

Nothing I can claim on benefits side of things,

I will have to submit 2 different income and expenditure, one single ie my debt to the cards and another joint for the loan,

    bit confusing,

what's lowest they will accept nothing left,

maybe I can play around with it for to make a small payment.

    Cheers

  2. Hi thanks for quick reply.

    All cards with oc

    mbna,

    hsbc,

    tesco,

    barclaycard,

    loan with tesco,

never missed a payment but over last 6 month dropped down to minimum payment, due to 20% drop in income

being furloughed 9 month last year, made redundant end of last year, took a lower paid job, now currently on sick leave on ssp, so very little income.

it's now come to a head where I have to send the letters of explaining my situation.

    Many thanks Mick

  3. All with original creditors, no late payments, when my savings run out I won't be able to make payments

    Thanks dx100uk

Much appreciated, are there any case studies how the creditors reply ie threat of charges put on house etc.

Income and expenditure what are reasonable living costs i know everyone is different, limits on certain things ie shopping, utility bills.

I don't want to over or under estimate.

  4. Hi

My friend and i have just left a property we rented for 3 years,  we left it very clean and tidy, and with fair wear and tear.

We have received a message re a small indentation in a laminate floor in the bedroom, (see pics)

this measure aprox 75mm x 50mm caused by a support pole in the centre of the bed.

The pics are taken by the landlords representative and taken at an angle to make the indentation look worse than it is,

im worried this could affect our deposit,

how should i respond to this if try taking money from our deposit

  5. My son along with his friend (due to work) rent an apartment in the City, everything was fine but after about 2 months or so one of the concierge was becoming difficult to deal with, he was hostile, unfriendly and unapproachable.

During the next 8 month or so they started noticing items being moved around the apartment also in the bedrooms and bathrooms drawers and wardrobes being disturbed, once he came home his laptop was open and the quilt was disturbed like someone had been led on the bed next to the laptop. Generally strange goings on at times this caused arguments and confrontations between them questioning each others honesty on many occasions.

Pullovers, gym tops ,t shirts, hoodies, aftershaves etc even girlfriends underwear over the months have gone missing at first they thought they could have left them at parents, friends or even at the gym

Then in September his friend put the washing machine on and it flooded the apartment, when the apartment maintenance came to fix the washing machine he said that a piece of the rubber seal had been sliced away.

They have in the apartment 4 or 5 key passes for access in and around the apartment block, kept in a bowl next to the door just to grab one when you leave, my son just last week could not get in the block using one of the passes, so he buzzed the concierge (not the hostile one) and was let in, the concierge checked his pass and it had been deactivated and was asked how he had got hold of this pass as it was a staff pass and belonged to the hostile concierge and had been deactivated because he had recently been sacked.

    Questions:

How did the staff pass get in the apartment ?

Why was the concierge sacked ?

What approach should they take ie legal advice?

I know theft would be hard to prove, but invasion of privacy by an employee of the company surely the proof is in the passkey left probably when the washing machine was sabotaged.

He has emailed the company who manage the apartments to explain how a staff pass got in his apartment and why the owner of the pass had been sacked, but no reply as yet.

    Any help would be appreciated

  6. Hello,

About 16 years ago i hit a bit of a sticky patch, jobless etc,

i had debts i could not afford, these ended up as 4 x ccj's, nominal payments of £1 per month where ordered on each of these.

I set up direct debit payments to pay the orders and made regular payments for 10 years,

about march 2014 i changed banks,

i contacted all debtors to set up new direct debits all but 1 was successful,

this has remained unpaid since way back in 2014 when at the time i offered them new direct debit mandate details.

I am now being chased by Mortimer Clarke solicitors who have threatened to send representatives to visit my home,

these are from "Engage" a Marstons regulated service company (are these bailiffs? if so what powers do they have?)

on the letter it states debt owed to Cabot financial (UK) LTD i have never had dealing with these so i cant really acknowledge the debt.

The original debt was a bank which no longer exists and went out of business/changed names around the time i gave them my new direct debit details,

so i'm guessing they got lost somehow.

Any help or advise would be much appreciated.

  7. Hello

i have just been charged on my credit card a location charge for my car rental from munich airport, i booked the rental on line with bookings.com/rentalcars.com, there was no mention of this on my agreement with rentalcars.com or confirmation from budget car rental. It was not explained to me at the airport, just added to my bill, amongst the confusion of foriegn language, people butting in, my rep talking helping her colleague on next desk.

  8. Up date I'm covered by insurance so it's been sent there £50 excess. It's the cheaper option, though under warranty just,

Heres a thought though I know a few people whose phone as bricked either after a Samsung update or shortly after, suppose it may be in there interest to brick phones nearing end of warranty.

  9. Hello, ive just done a system update on my samsung s7 edge did all the usual download, install, now it wont turn back on, tried the reboot procedure but nothing just a blank screen with a flashing blue light top left.

Rang customer services and it is still under warranty, then they asked any visible damage, i said a small hairline crack on screen this cancels the warranty, even though the mobile phone worked perfectly for 12 months.

Its the update that shut the phone down not the barely visible crack.

  10. Hello,

We recently travelled to Goa India we booked a hotel on bookings.com pay on arrivel, i paid by credit card on arrivel at reception we where shown our room which was fine.

We unpacked and decided to go to the pool/resturant area which was on the roof of the hotel, all the way up the staircase was rubbish open food cartons and plastic bags with used toilet paper in, at the pool a bin was overflowing with rubbish including on top a ripped open dirty nappy which birds had pulled apart, This was just 5 metres away from the resturant, the pool itself had no filter system and was a dirty looking colour.

We complained to the reception and they said that they would report it to cleaning staff, we went out for the day it was still the same 8 hr later again a complaint was made, and the new receptionists said no report had been made, by midday the following day it was still the same.

We demanded to see the hotel owner along with other guests, we were given his phone number he said he would come over in 1 hour he didnt come until 6pm the next day, he agreed to move us to another hotel 2 days later due to christmas busy time this was the only option, we had checked also and the area was full.

We paid £900 for 13 night stay, 5 days and 4 nights were ruined due to this we could not use the pool, inclusive breakfast or our balcony seating area, all of which is what we book hotels for, it was like we were in room lock down, we asked the hotel owner for some compensation but he refused.

The hotel we moved to was more suitable in the same price bracket.

I explained this to my credit card company on return and they said i cant claim any part of the payment back, which i feel is wrong as 4 night 5 days where a nightmare living in a tip, even in room very noisy right through untill 5am, security took no action.

    Thanks
