  2. Just a quick question on this. Could they in Theory close any other accounts you hold with the Building society? Say for instance you have a membership account with them I.E a Bonus Saver or an Mini Cash ISA? You would lose membership priviledges the right to vote and any potential "Windfall" should they go down that route?? Would it be legal for them to close accounts that are in no way in dispute? Mark.
  3. Well they couldnt have been more helpful really. Spoke to a friendly customer service advisor and asked for a complete list of all charges made on my account in the last six years. She said she would have to send a request to my branch which she did as i was on the line to her. She then said they would post me the information within 5-7 working days. There was no charge for this. I asked about having my current balance of 190 pounds overdrawn brought back to 0.00 due to the fact that their refusal to give an overdraft to a long standing member of over 10 years had resulted in these charges and i had made the bank aware the charges would occur. I also dropped in with the fact that i had always paid bank charges before with no quarrel but this i felt was unfair practice by the bank. She said they would certainly review it but needed to have it confirmed in writing by myself. So all in all a good start. But even if they do drop the 190 pounds im going for the jugular for the full 6 years worth now Next plan of action is to wait for the charges so i can blind them with numbers when i send out the letter that is prepared and ready to rock.
  4. Hi everyone, I just came about this site from a link from a money saving site and i can't believe that it is actually possible to recover costs from six years. Last year i was in financial difficulty due to being injured whilst an armed robbery took place at my worksplace i was off work for 8 months and on SSP. As a result direct debits bounced like mad. because of this they debited money from my account which then made me overdrawn, hammering me for unauthourised overdraft fees and interest. (which there own charges brought about) Its supposed to be impossible to go overdrawn with the flexaccount i have. Thing is after much struggle i paid it all back to the sum of about 850 pounds. Now my firm has switched from weekly pay to monthly so i got stung on another round of a months direct debits after they refused to give me a temporary 1 month overdraft. So again this time im already 190 pounds down and its rising. Im going to ring them right now to see if i can get these new charges waived the full 190 pounds worth to show i am willing to settle out of court. But im also going to ask them for the full six years records. because if this is doable i stand to recoup at least 1000 pounds. The letter is prepared but i think ill give em a bell now to get the ball rolling.
