  1. If you weren't invested in the with-profits fund then no compensation will be due, as with-profits were the funds that were fleeced. If you are due compensation then DHL should have informed you by now but it's still worth a direct enquiry to the Equitable Life Payment Scheme. Most compensation has been paid so delays should be minimal now. It's unlikely that you pension was actually frozen when you left, and the statement that the main scheme will buy double pension at retirement sounds interesting. I request a statement from my deferred pensions on an annual basis now and shan't be attempting to access them early as they are both underfunded and offering lousy transfer values so best left where they are. I also have small Equitable Life with-profits private pension which I am leaving alone until I reach 60 when valuable guarantees kick in provided I buy an annuity or go into immediate drawdown (ie not just on transfer to another provider).
  2. A little bit more digging reveals that the Tibbett and Britten group workplace pension is known to the Equitable Life Payment Scheme, see here: http://webarchive.nationalarchives.gov.uk/20140404084345/http://equitablelifepaymentscheme.independent.gov.uk/eligiblepolicies/CompanyT.htm Do you have your group scheme policy number? http://webarchive.nationalarchives.gov.uk/20140404084345/http://equitablelifepaymentscheme.independent.gov.uk/eligiblepolicies/grouppolicies.htm#exactline "You can check if your policy is eligible for the Scheme by telephoning the Scheme’s “Policychecker” service on 0300 0200 150. The Scheme’s “Policychecker” service will only be able to confirm eligibility if you have your Group scheme policy number. Your policy number is made up of two elements; a five digit scheme number and a nine digit member number. The nine digit member number is often, but not always, your National Insurance number. If you know your scheme number and your National Insurance number, it is likely that these two numbers will make your policy number. For example, if the scheme number is A1234, and your National Insurance number is BC123456D, your policy number is likely to be A1234BC123456D."
  3. If your pension was invested in the Equitable Life with-profits fund then you may very well be due compensation as the Equitable Life Payment Scheme has not been able, despite their best efforts, to contact all policyholders eligible for compensation. https://www.gov.uk/equitable-life-payment-scheme The scheme has now contacted all those policyholders it can trace. If you have an eligible policy but have not yet been contacted by the scheme, you should telephone the scheme on 0300 0200 150 to check your eligibility. Good luck.
