  1. Hi OP, can you message me? Same issue here, but due to post count cannot PM. Regards Helen
  2. Hi I am curious to know if you did escalate and report this? I too was provided a one price quote when I took out the policy, both of my dogs being under 8. The premiums have risen equally until this renewal, following my 12 year old bitch reporting that she was undergoing investigations for Cushings (life-long). Same breed, same home, insured for over 5 years at Platinum level for peace of mind. Jess' policy DOUBLED! The male's policy remained the same. Upon eenquiring, I received an email advising that age, breed, location, national claims statistics, etc were taken into account. They not only want me to pay £65 per month (after two dog discount, the policy also allows for a £90 excess and around 15% of ckaim due to age! This wouldn't be viewed as ethical behaviour for human health or life insurance policies, as we are effectively being priced out of insurance. Due to age and history, we are also trapped in seeking a more reasonable premium from the rest of the market. The response from Vets MediCover is that Elite Insurance set the prices, they can only offer to reduce my level of cover to secure a more affordable premium. Not ok at all. My peace of mind has evaporated overnight and I feel robbed of the premiums paid to date. To be clear, I have no issue paying around £65 per month for 2 dogs, I do with being ripped off. I would be grateful to hear what happened and anybody else's experiences. I have written to ask for an explanation and a review by the underwriter. If a satisfactory response is not received, the FSO, Watchdog and the press will be my next step. Thanks all, Helen
