  1. Hey, As far as I remember, I got an email from them statig that they were going to remove the default as the original creditor didn't have any record of it, they stated that they could then place a default on themselves at a later date as they now own the debt (not sure if they can or not as I have never entered in to an agreement directly with them) but it would be after 6 months of non payment. I was dealing with them through emails, so maybe you will get a letter?
  2. To be honest i can't remember what the 900 was made up of, but i know that the 2000+ one was a cancelation fee and that was over a year in to an 18 month contract. i don't have any of the paperwork relating to it anymore, as it was in 2010, and if I'm completely honest, i was a complete idiot child then.
  3. The one with three was the classic one that you always seem to read about that the contract was over and i paid what i thought was the final bill, and it ended up that it wasn't. i'm actually dealing with them right now, and they seem to be pretty helpful. O2 is the one that i can't seem to get through to - I lost my job and they eventually gave me a letter stating that if i didn't pay by a certain date that the account was going to be cancelled, i called them on that date and paid the outstanding balance, and was told that the phone would be reconnected and that would be that. The next morning, i received a bill for well over £2000, called them and they said that it was a mistake and that the line would be reconnected later that day - it wasn't. I left it a few more days and called them back, they told me that the account was closed and there was nothing that could be done about it. months later i received another bill for the disconnection fee of £2000, spoke to them and they said as a matter of good faith they would take the 900ish that i had already paid and leave it at that. Years later, i check my credit file and find a default for the 2000+ marked as settled. How can they tell me in one breath that they will reconnect the line, then at the same time slap a default on me without even telling me?
  4. Yeah, i understand that, i guess what i'm trying to get at is that if they can default you, but not tell you about it and they are not answerable to anyone like the CCA, then how is someone meant to fight or even respond to that?
  5. is there an email address for this guy? i'm in australia and post isn't really an option
  6. Hi Guys, Just thought i'd follow up with this - The Default has been removed from my credit file As was previously mentioned, i'm now going after them for the other default notice which i said at the time was for conga, but it was actually for another payday **** company. I've sent them multiple emails and they are now completely ignoring me - maybe i have them on the back foot? Either way, thanks guys
  7. I'm trying to get a bit of clarification with regards to mobile phone companies and defaults. I have two defaults on my credit file with equifax for 02 and Three I asked for copies of the default notices and got the response that they don't have to supply them as they are not covered by the CCA. If they aren't covered by the CCA, how can they enforce a default for 6 years on my credit files (which is regulated by the CCA) and not have to remove it when they full balance has been paid? Thanks
  8. Can I drop the email bit out and ask them to send it via Royal Mail and scanned copies to my email address so at least I don't have to wait another 6 weeks to read what they say?
  9. I'll send it off to them when I get back to the uk, at the moment, I can only correspond with them through email as I'm in Australia with work for 6 weeks at a time.
  10. Yes, I've checked several different ones, including noodle, and there's no sign of this debt anywhere at all. I didn't know, and am amazed that they can default you and not tell anyone about it. Especially considering the first thing I've heard of this from either the original creditor or mmf is the email that I started this thread with that I only just received
  11. So you're saying that they may have already defaulted it, but there's no way of me knowing if they have or not?
  12. so if they even tried to put a dodgy default on my file, it would have to be from 2009? meaning it would expire in a couple of months anyway? If so, haha good luck with that one
