Hi Guys Thanks for the prompt replies. We have dropped down kerbs, and the tarmac'd area is part of the original features of the house, so yes permission was given to the house builders 25 years ago.

I recently moved in with my girlfriend, we now have 4 cars parked, wholly within the paved/tarmac area fronting the house, so none of us touch the pavement, road or adjoining properties. Our neighbour is complaining that she can see cars from her lounge window, we have searched all of the relevent paperwork, but can find no restrictions as to where we can park on our own property. we do not want to be confrontational, but does anyone know of any rights she has in this case, the cars are all standard (no noisy exhausts, flashy spoilers etc) I think that she is just trying to flex her muscles in her role of perceived queen of the Cul de Sac.
