  1. Hi, An update on this. She has received a letter today stating: You have recently made an additional repayment to your loan account. The table below sets out how this affects your loan. Partial Repayment £4000 Partial Repayment charge £116.25 Partial Repayment net amount £3883.75 New loan balance £126.27 DR Final Repayment date 2 June 2014 Final Repayment £140 There is no entitlement to rebate the charge for credit under section 95 of the consumer credit act 1974 or under the agreement My mum has tried to call but is getting passed around. I'm going to draft a letter so anymore advice on this would be great.
  2. Hi, Hopefully somebody can offer some advice. My mum took out a loan with Natwest (her bank) online for £4000 to clear some credit cards. The loan went into her account, which was around 700 overdrawn. Five days after this going in her account she decided to cancel the loan as she found a 0% card to switch to, the loan money was still sitting in her account. When she called to cancel, within the cooling off period, she was told she would be charged a small amount of interest. Today they have deducted a £165 early settlement charge from her bank account. Although she hasn't used her the loan I'm assuming they'll say because it went into her overdrawn account (well within the limit) it was used. She can't call them until tomorrow so any advice in the meantime would be great.

Hi, I called them first thing this morning, just the normal customer services. He said he would fill out a form which goes to head office and I would hear within 5 working days. Good job I get paid this week!

    Card Fraud

Hi, Hopefully somebody can help advise what I should do. On Friday I noticed the balance of my fairly new Nationwide account was massively low. I was at a cashpoint at the time so immediately rang them. I was told a lot of transactions had gone out over a 7 day period, totaling just over £600, to a betting company. I told them I had not made these and never heard of the company. The adviser said she would fill out a form and this would be investigated and I should maybe contact the company myself. I've tried to contact the company with no luck as they can't find the account and refer me back to the bank. I've waited and today I come home to find a letter from Nationwide with the following: Cancelling a transaction set up directly with the merchant concerned without the involvement of your bank differs from cancelling other payments. Nationwide can request the merchant do not take any further transactions however we recommend that you contact them directly to inform them that you have withdrawn your consent for the recurring payment. What on earth are they going on about, I have never been involved or set up any payment with this company. The department I need to speak to are closed at the moment so if anybody could offer any advise I would be grateful, this money is for food etc until I get paid again, I don't know what to do.
