  1. right, i am just about to type out my letter, stating that i accept the £329 as a part payment and am persuing to reclaim my full amount, is this letter another LBA giving them 14 more days or is it a standard letter between the original 14 day period of the original LBA?
  2. how exactly do they come up with the numbers?? they owe me £1140.45 they offer £329 its rather a random amount don't you think?
  3. work to your own deadlines, i recieved my letter today threatening to close my account, but i'm sure its just a scare tactic to make you accept the offer they make
  4. just read throught he step by step guide again, is it right that i should accept the £329 under the condition that its a partial settlement? should i sign the full and final acceptance form, or should i write a new letter stating that i accept as partial settlement or should i do both?
  5. recieved a letter this morning from the halifax, they are threatening to close my account........ if that happens big deal they are also offering me settlement of £329
  6. LBA has just been printed and taken to the post box yes it does feel quite good. I've a friend who works in the collections dept at the co-op bank. I was talking to him about my claim to get my charges back, he actually found it quite funny that i was even attempting, because acording to him they are not unlawful, I was tempted to point him in the direction of the site, but i think i will hold on until i get my cheque in my hand to prove him wrong! he also stated that there are only a few cases where people will get their charges back, and even then they don't they get a good will settlement!
  7. today is the 14 day deadline set by the first letter requesting my charges be reimburse, i recieved another letter today Read Mr Greenhalgh, Thank you for you letter on 10th July 2006. You have questioned the legality of the charges on your account. We're keen to deal with your concerns as quickly as possible. A Customer Relations Manager will investigate the points you have raised and you will recieve a reply shortly, but certainly no later than 4 weeks. You will find enclosed a copy of our leaflet, which tells you how we will handle your complaint. Yours sincerely Alan Molineux No doubt you have all recieved the same letter, do i wait for my reply from the customer relations manager, or do i send letter no. 2 out right away?
  8. i recieved a reply to letter no. 2 yesterday, stating that my complaint had been noted and is being investigated
  9. I have just recieved my statements this morning in the mail, i've figured out my charges and they total £1,133.00, however there are also instances of interest debited, these total £7.45 not much but even so.... can i claim this oney back also?
  10. Good morning folks, really helpful and informative site thanks!! i sent my letter to HBOSon 23rd of last month and recieved my acknowledgement letter today........ 'I acknowledge your letter requesting specific information on your account with us and confirm that copies of dulicate statements haev been ordered and will be sent under seperate cover. With regard to your request for information relating to manual intervention on your account, HBOS plc is under no staturory obligation to record this information and therefore, i am unable to assist you further with your request.' i am asuming that this is a standard template, but i am beggining to think that i have a very big fight on my hands
