  1. Hi, I finally heard back from PayDayUK and it wasn't good news. They basically said no they will not remove the entries. When I get home I will find the letter and upload a copy of the reply. Looks like I am going to have to just wait and let time be the healer.....
  2. Hi, Sorry for the late reply I have been enjoying Christmas and the New Year!! I used the template from earlier on in this thread and just amended it to suit what I needed to say etc. We are looking at a mortgage when/if I can get this sorted and whilst this is not the main reason I was rejected, it certainly does not help. I am hoping the fact that I was a good customer who paid on time they can do me a favour. If not I suppose time is a healer in these situations. I doubt I could take it further if they flat out refuse?
  3. Just a quick update, I received a letter back from MEM (Payday UK) explaining they have my letter and will look into my complaint. Let's see what happens next!!
  4. Thanks again, I have written an email but will follow it up with a letter if needed. I shall ignore them in the meantime!!
  5. Thanks for the quick reply. I would like to do whatever will make them disappear the quickest! Will writing to them just make them more eager to chase? I know the old advice was just to always ignore but I thought new rules had come into place recently?
  6. Hi, A few months ago my other half received a parking charge from Smart Parking Ltd. I appealed it online as she was not in the country at the time of the offence (she was on holiday and I was using the car). I scanned a copy of her passport as this showed her stamps leaving the country. I never heard anything from the appeal but today received a letter from Debt Recovery Plus Ltd who now want me to pay £160. What is the best way to proceed? She is worried it will end up on her credit files so I would rather deal with it than ignore unless that is the best option? Thanks
  7. They didn't say... They are now looking into it which will take three days...
  8. Not sure if this is the place... more of a rant than actual financial advice. I received an offer code for £30 off when you spend £60. Pretty good deal so thought I would take advantage. Went to place an order and the credit got rejected???? Not the end of the world I thought, I will just place the order and pay by card with the credit of £30 going on my account which I have a couple of hundred outstanding on. Now the code cannot be used as it has been used already..... Thought a quick email would rectify it but it seems because I have attempted to use it and then had it rejected I cannot try again even if paying in full......
  9. Thanks, I have had a long read and am now preparing for action
  10. Hi, Just been redirected to this thread and makes for very interesting reading. I have previous entries from Payday UK (all paid and up to date, nothing ever missed) and thought having them would improve my rating. I will be using the letter at the start of this thread (with a couple of amendments) and see what I get back. My other regret now is I used Payday UK and not Mr Lender who seemed to comply a lot more easily!!
  11. Thanks again, I have found this address for the complaints team, Customer Service Director ScottishPower Cathcart Business Park Spean Street Glasgow G44 4BE I noticed you mentioned appealing to a senior executive to get it removed. Do you know how/where I can find the info for them?
  12. Thanks for the reply, the gas default is still outstanding and the only reason I know about it is because I have checked my credit files. I did also suggest in my email to them that if they could remove the default I would happily pay the rest of the outstanding gas bill.
  13. Hi, Probably not the usual question about payday loans but someone might be able to help. In the past I have had some loans with payday uk. No problems, always paid on time etc. My issue is this is affecting my chances of a mortgage. I thought at the time any credit paid on time would be a good thing for my credit history but it turns out payday loans are a big fat red mark on my history. Anyone ever successfully argued for a payday lender to remove the entries from the credit report? Is this even possible? I have argued that I was given the impression it would improve my credit file when infact does the opposite. I understand this is a very long shot
  14. Hi, Just after a bit of advice to see if anything can be done. Here is the history. Moved out of a property on the 11/06/11 - Rang to confirm moving out (no record of call by Scottish Power) As it turns out they have me down as transferring supply electric in June and gas in July. (This must of been the new tenants and means I actually got billed on my final bills for part of their usage?) They have told me they sent reminders and defaults to the original address and finally defaulted it in Oct and Nov. (Didn't get the letters I had moved out) Chased at my new address for the electric debt in March/April 2012, realised I had an amount outstanding and paid the DCA. Didn't realise at the time that the gas was outstanding (thought it was all one account) So my main question really is do I have a leg to stand on getting them removed? I have been emailing SP but they have said no error has been made by SP so it can't be removed. I have tried to argue that I told them I moved hence me not getting the reminders, I have also argued the defaulted amounts are incorrect because of the dates. They told me it wouldn't make much difference to the amount and I would still have a debt. Any help please
