  1. Good Evening, I am after some advice if someone would please be able to help. I have had a mobile phone contract with Orange mobile for the past 4 years, never had a problem until they merged and formed EE. When I renewed my contract 2 years ago Orange kept mucking up the payments on 3 occasions taking far more money than was owed and also putting a barr on my phone when payment had been made, this caused me alot of frustration and each time it took approx 2 weeks for me to get the money back from them. This caused me to cancel the direct debit and just call up and pay each month, I did this each month without fail. Unfortunately at this time I wasn't checking my credit file otherwise I probably could of solved this issue many moons ago. Well yes I was making the regular payments but I was never informed that the dates which I was actually making the payments was being classed as a late payment. I was never advised of this otherwise I of happily changed the date which I called to make payment. Only now upon checking my file have I noticed what has been going on, to make matters worse towards the end of last year I thought I would give them the benefit of the doubt and set another direct debit up, I did this and guess what.. . yes they mucked it up once again attempting to take the money on completely on the wrong date which I was advised. I called orange straight away to see what was going on and they denied what they had told me originally and said nobody would have advised that I could arrange the payment to come out on a certain date as all payments were collected on the same day not only this but because they couldn't collect the money because I hadn't made it available in the account for that date but they marked this down as 2 months arrears as it was over Christmas. If I had of been told this I wouldn't of bothered attempting to set up another direct debit. Now I have been arguing with Orange/EE for months about this and how I was never informed of any late payments or arrears as well as being given incorrect info by customer services on numerous occasions, I started requesting them to remove these from my credit file as a gesture of good will but was very bluntly told no because its a true reflection of how you control your bills and payments. This in fact is the only negative account on my credit file and is completely destroying it, I have 7 credit accounts (2 x current accounts, 1 x car finance, 1 x credit card, 2 x closed accounts, and the dredded mobile phone) all of which are perfect apart from this dredded mobile phone account of which should now be closed as I refused to renew my contract 2 months ago after all the hassle. I even spoke with the executive office for EE and explained my experience and what had gone on and asked if they could investigate this and remove these markers as a gesture of good will, again very bluntly told no. I have even compiled an e-mail to the CEO and never even had a response even after I have sent numerous chasers across the last 2 months asking for an investigation and giving my customer feedback. I recently requested a copy of my contract or signed terms and conditions which I had agreed to but again they very bluntly said we don't have these and I should have kept this information myself and just gave me a link to their website and terms and conditions. Should they not be able to supply a copy of the contract or signed documents on request? Does this give me ground to say I want the account completely removed as you cannot supply this detail of my agreement? again they will most probably deny to remove any detail from my credit file but could I then take this to the ombudsman? These markers are causing much upset between myself and my partner as we were trying to purchase our first home together as we start to make our family life, unfortunately we cannot even get a decent mortgage with these markers showing on my credit file. I find this very upsetting and stress full as this has put a complete stop on our lives and I feel that this is through no fault of my own especially when all my other credit accounts are perfect. I am now stuck and don't know what else I can do which is why I am calling out to all you guys for your help and advice so we can carry on and make our family life. I appreciate you taking your time to help me in this situation and look forward to receiving your responses. Thanks again, James
  2. Good Morning, I am just after some advise in regards to late payment markers which my previous mobile phone provider Orange/EE placed upon my credit report. I have had numerous late payment marks placed due to me refusing to set up a direct debit with them as they on 3 occasions took incorrect payments from my account which then took them 2 weeks after being informed to refund to my account, they also cut me off on numerous occasions even though the full amount had been paid on the bill. On a few occasions I missed the payment date by 7-14 days due to being away on business etc... I was in the understanding that the providers were unable to place late payment marks on your credit file if the payment was less than 30 days late, is this not right or am I right? I look forward to receiving your guy's answers on this. Thanks.
  3. Thanks. My Girlfriends credit report is perfect. Based on your knowledge, do you think we would be declined for a Mortgage?
  4. Hi Guys, Thanks for your responses; I don't have any associates and do my credit report with checkmyfile.com who I think get there information from all the agencies? I have had my car finance for 1 1/2 years now and no problems with that, they have also supplied me with a letter stating that they have never had any issues with payments and that I am a good creditor. I have had my credit card for just under 3 years and have only ever made 1 late payment which was 8 months ago, this was because we were on holiday at the time and it completely slipped my mind but immediate payment was made once we were back. I have had 2 lots of finance for a season ticket across the last two years of which both are not settled and never missed a payment etc... I have been with my bank for 8 years and never had any issues with that. This is all that is showing on my credit report. Is a score of 569 still not a low score for this clean history? Is it true that the lenders don't see the score which we see so the score they get may be much better? Thanks in advance for all your help.
  5. Hi Guys, I need your help please! My girlfriend and I are looking to buy our first house together and for this we need a mortgage. I have previously had a poor credit history With working on this for a few years I have now managed to get all my defaulted accounts and bad accounts removed, there is still one account which has had 1 late payment but this is 8 months ago and has been kept up to date since. i pay my credit card in full every month. I have also had car finance for over a year now which is all clean and no payments missed or late and always paid on time. Even with all this my credit score is still only showing as 2 star and a score of 569, can you please advise why this is and how I can now get this in the 700's? I don't understand why it is still so low even though my credit report now looks good. I have been registered on the roll since 2005 and have never moved address, there hasn't been any applications for credit for over 1 1/2 years. Your help is very much appreciated. Thanks.
  6. Hi DX It isn't the fees which we are querying thought it is the actual date they recorded the default as according to the ICO guidelines defaults have to be recorded within 6 months of the first missed payment, welcome on this occasion recorded the default 3 years after the 1st missed payment so what they need to do is just amend the data as welcome have already admitted they were wrong by registering the default so late. The problem is that MKDP haven't been notified of this change by welcome so it is still appearing on the credit report. Now is it welcomes job to contact MKDP and advise them of the incorrect data which needs amending or the job of me?
  7. Hi Guys, Why do I require the SAR? The reason for default removal is because the default was only recorded by welcome 3 years after the 1st missed payment and this is against the guidelines. Welcome then sold te debt to MKDP, welcome recently apologised and removed the detail they placed on my credit file but they are saying I have to challenge this with MKDP myself. Is this not the job of welcome as they supplied MKDP with the incorrect information to start with? Thanks
  8. Hi Guys, At last welcome finance have removed the default but now the debt agency they sold this onto MKDP are still showing as the original date and welcome are saying it isn't there job to amend this detail, is this correct? I thought it would be there Job as they sold the debt and are the original creditor who supplied the incorrect information to the debt agency when they sold the debt on. Help please Kind Regards,
  9. Thanks for your reply Mikey, although I have sorted this now and both defaults and all to do with these debts have been removed from my credit file as they were unable to supply me with the names of the original creditors along with dates of my payments etc...
  10. Received a reply from welcome today stating that it can take 8 weeks for them to reply, surely there is a shorter time limit than that?
  11. Good Evening All Just wondering if anybody can help me, there are 2 defaults on my credit report from Provident one of which relates to a catalog and one of which relates to a credit card. I have been contacting Provident to try and gain details of the accounts as I believe that the defaults were registered long after the 6 months suggested on the ICO technical guidelines so these should be back dated to the date of the 3rd missed payment. Unfortunately Provident just keep sending an automated letter back to me stating that they are looking into this, they finally got back to me with just an A4 sheet of paper with typed amounts next to a month number. It didn't even have an address, name, signature. It literally was just a blank piece of paper with months and amounts next to it which was the balance of the account and I have heard nothing else since. I am trying to work on getting my credit report straight as I wish to apply for Mortgages starting next year but unfortunately Provident are proving to be playing difficult. Can anyone help me as I really don't know what I should be doing next? Thanks.
  12. Thanks for all your help guys, it really is very much appreciated. I feel like I've had a weight lifted off my shoulders knowing that there is a possibility that this default will be removed as it's been effecting me for years. When I write to the creditor should I put a time limit in which they should reply and should I send it recorded delivery so I have proof that they have received this? Does anybody have a template of letter they have used against welcome before? Thanks
  13. Hi and many thanks for your informative and prompt response. There were definitely no further payments made after that date and I haven't either received anything from welcome or MKDP for atleast 18months. Do you recommend doing this by letter? And should I mark it for the attention of anybody? So I just need to state that the default should be removed as it is unfair that the default was placed 3 years after the last payment was made, is there any acts or laws which I need to quote to back this up? Thanks again.
  14. I am just wondering if you can help me, I have the £2000 debt from a loan which I had from welcome finance. The default was recorded 3 years after the last payment (December 2006) the default (January 2010) they have since sold this debt onto MKDP. The issue which I have is this default is now going to be on my file until 2016 and I am hoping to try for a Mortgage next year as my circumstances now are very good but with this default on my file I highly doubt anyone will accept me. there anyway which I can get this default removed? Thanks in advance for your kind cooperation.
