  1. Hi, I'm really struggling with a default on my account that I would love to get removed. It's a bit of a long story but here it goes, I had a phone contract with T-Mobile and admittedly I loved them. (Not anymore) Anyway it was back when I was in Uni and I had finished my contract and was running on a month rolling deal. Anyway I finished Uni and I was planning to go travelling in September/October. I contacted T-Mobile and asked to cancel my account, I instructed the guy on the phone that I needed to make my final payment cause I was leaving the country within the next week. He took a payment and said that was it, final payment, all done. I left and returned a year later, I decided I needed a new phone and went to a T-Mobile store to sign up only to find out I had defaulted!!! I (probably a mistake now) paid my default instantly.... I mean I didn't want to owe someone money and this was the first I had heard about it. So now I've got a default on my account, I have wrote to T-Mobile before but I just get fobbed off with letters that say their accounts are up to date. My argument is that I didn't know about the default so couldn't pay it. I feel like T-Mobile were directly at fault for the default but am I just wasting my time trying to get them to remove the default? Any advice would be much appreciated.
  2. Hi, I signed up for a membership to the gym about 4 months ago. I didn't receive any contract but did receive a letter in the post saying a direct debit had been set up. The gym is beside my work and it means I can attend at lunch time. Anyway, fast forward 3 months and I have been offered a new job so it means I wont be able to attend the gym any longer. I gave Ashbourne a call after talking to the gym instructor and they said that if I was moving for work then all they needed was a letter from my current employer saying that I am leaving the area. I was happy with this and after getting one from my current boss I replied with it. I have since had a reply asking for a copy of my P45 and an offer of work from my new company. They said that they would then "look into cancellation of your membership". I have a copy of the offer from my new company but I don't have a P45 yet as I don't finish until the end of the month. I was hoping to get this all wrapped up by the end of the month but it doesn't seem possible. Are they asking for too much by asking for a P45? I don't really have a problem showing them one but they sound like they just want to drag it out. I am in contact with Ashbourne via email.
