  1. It has been confirmed in writing by welcome and cabot, they even refunded the £149 i had paid to cabot. The letter came from welcomes head office in response to my complaint, they acknowledged they had irresponsibly lended money to my husband. Should i be worried then? Thanks
  2. hi just an update on welcome, we have been informed that all outstanding debt has been written and an apology!!! should we persue for PPI otr accept that the nightmare is finally over ? Thank you
  3. Hi there please could someone advice me what to tell my elderly brother to do. He rang me a few days ago to say someone had contacted him to say his claim for compensation had been successful and an amount would be put in his bank. He informed the caller that he has not made a claim but they insisted he had??? a few days later £1,000 appeared in his account, he then had phone calls from a foreign person to say he needed to transfer this money into another account number that they supplied him with?? at this point my brother went to his bank Santander to inform them what had happened and apparently they told him to go along with it??? My brother was not happy with this and spoke to another person at the bank who said they would move this money into another account ??? He is now getting funny phone calls at all times in the night and requests to accept more money. I have told him to change his number and inform the police it sounds like some sort of [problem]. I live 150 miles away but this is really worrying us now. Can someone advice if we need to do anymore please, he wont answer his phone anymore and is very afraid Thanks in advance
  4. I have persused welcome and today had a reply that says they have written off the remaining debt as they feel they have not always acted in my husbands best interests, which is great news. I have contacted cabot who say they have not received any notification and feel they will contest welcomes decision???? Also the letter states any PPI claim wont be worth perusing can some one advise me please. Obviously I am glad they have finally acknowledged their wrong doing however seems too good to be true and especially with what cabot are now saying. Any help is greatly appreciated Thanks
  5. yes all that was done and they sent the reply i posted earlier. Thanks
  6. Hi dx I submitted a complaint to them regarding ppi and charges they investigated and this is the reply they sent back that I posted today. Was wondering what to do next if I can do anything ?
  7. hi everyone well i have received a reply from welcome who state the time limit has been too great to quote "I regret to inform you we are to reject your complaint because it is outside the relevant time limits. The rules of the regulator FCA state that where a complaint relates to an event that took place before feb 2003 we are not required to investigate your complaint. Sales of insurance made before that date were the responsibility of the insurance provider not the broker who sold it?. Please can some one advise me what to do next please, can anything be done ? your help is greatly appreciated thank you.
  8. hi everyone could you help me please? I have sent off all the forms you suggested and yet again welcome want my hubbies ID I sent it again and now had a letter back saying they cannot accept it due to me blacking out hubbies signature as suggested on here. yet another delaying tactic do you think? They already have this information from when I requested the SAR am I ok to re send with signature on or is this not wise. Hope I am not being thick?? thanks again
  9. Thanks everyone for your kind replies. DX there are literally 75 pages of comms and charges so to upload may be difficult. I have sent a letter to welcome explaining our complaint and requesting the original signed loan agreement. I have also sent a 5 page letter detailing how they conducted their buisness and the charges that have been applied. I have also sent cabot a letter asking for them to produce the original loan agreement. So I await their reply, I do hope I have done the right thing? Thanks again
  10. Hi Dx yes i did the SAR and have recieved it back on friday last week. It is very complicated and they say some they cant produce. Hence I came back on here for some help. Thanks
  11. sorry scott wasnt aware i was on other threads?? new to this apologies
  12. yes i appreciate health comes first every time, I know some people wont believe this but this isn't about lining back pockets it is about finishing this after 12 years of hell he still owes the same amount?? This is causing stress as he cant see any end to it especially as he still owes the same amount?? Sorry but what is a cca request? this is all new to me just want an end to it for my husband it was a terrible time for him. Thanks again
  13. Have received all the statements from welcome but for some reason they say they dont have all of them??? Interest was not added form 2006 when he entered a payment agreement it was all before that and these seem to have been misplaced by welcome. The letter I have just received says they no longer have the loan agreements??? Cabot are collecting the larger debt now as it has been sold on to them in June this year. I have spoke to them today and asked them to produce the original loan agreement and they say they dont have it I also rang welcome and they say they dont have it either??? Which poses the question do cabot have the right to collect this debt? Cabot say they can obtain the agreement by other means i have asked them to produce the original loan agreement is this right? I have also written to welcome One to say they way they conducted their business is unethical and 2 to object to the charges and outstanding amount is this the right thing to do please? Thanks so much
  14. Thank you fletch 70 for your reply. There were 2 loans one was a small loan for 500 that was added on added on several times due to non payment the loan was never repaid but because he very stupidly ignored it got bigger with charges and defaults. I was not with my husband then. The second loan was for a car for 3,599 that he has been paying for for over 12 years that they sold to cabot in july this year that still stands at 3,500???. It seems from the SAR that everytime he didnt pay due to CSA mental health issues they gave him another loan to include the original amount arrears and charges he never got on top of the loan which I feel was irresponsible of Welcome. The hounding didnt just compose of phone calls they actually visited his work and asked a security guard if they had seen my husband by name. They also visited his ex partner and told her all his woes. Furthermore they also visited his landlord mother sister and daughter. I understand they have the right to chase non payers but surely they cant divulge information? This is all recorded on the SAR. The loans date back to 2002 to present day last one taken out as atop up was 2005. This is a mess and welcome now say they do not have the original loan agreement and cabot do not either? Thanks again
  15. Hi I have today received the SAR from welcome boy where do I start??? There are pages upon pages of data. It seems that my husband was offered top up loans when he struggled to pay his current loan due to being unwell and in hospital. struggled to pay current loan then given a fresh one to include arrears this happened 12 times? Do I need a company to go through these papers or is it possible to do myself? What do I do next please? I really want to take this further they made his life hell and there are 12 pages of phone calls stating things like this man is mentally ill trying to [problem] us??? add charge. The loan is still ongoing after 8 years it is now owned by cabot do I pass this SAR to them? Any help would be greatly appreciated
