1. what i dont get is I can park in both permit holder parking and the paid parking but I cant park on this line. seems to be devoid of any use other than to p##s off us residents and make a tidy earner for the council. thanks for the info.
2. If you move just past the white van and then drag down with the mouse you can see the road markings on the road for permit holders only. The white van is parked in the "Permit Holder and Pay at Machine Only" parking bay and the small white 4 door mazda (I think) is where I parked. You can see the "Permit Holder and Pay at Machine Only" parking sign on the light pole.
3. I live in Edinburgh Scotland and received the above PCN whilst parked practically outside my own residence. There is a pay for parking bay of approx 15 cars wide (no individual car spaces are marked but the bay is) in front of our house. for the entire length of our street the remainder parking bay is for permit holder parking (no individual car spaces are marked but the bay is and states permit holders only painted on the road). Their interval is set by the placement of garbage bins. The sign on the light pole states "Permit Holder and Pay at Machine Only" with an arrow pointing left looking from in front our our house. I have a valid permit for our neighbourhood. On closer inspection I can see that there is a double dashed line that runs perpendicular to the light pole in the photo. My car is just touching the 2nd white line (for pay parking). I think the contravention is for the line on the right which is for permit holders. This seems to be pretty stupid but I can park in both bays because of my valid parking permit but I can still receive a PCN for parking over the line. I am literally 5 to 10cm max from the line. What do people think? I want to Challenge this via the Notice to Owner and if that fails to go via the Parking Adjudicator. Would I appeal using the "The contravention did not occur" option? thanks Andy
