  1. Finally managed to sort this with the area manager by making a complaint on TripAdvisor, which she saw and responded to. The ticket has now been cancelled and I received a card with £10 worth of free coffees on.
  2. Just contacted Starbucks where the car was allegedly parked and was told that they pay rent to some random guy who owns the land and it's nothing to do with them....how funny
  3. There's a growing movement to fight these parasitic companies, backed by professionals including solicitors and may well become viral. I hope these companies are reading these posts...their time is coming to an end
  4. Armadillo...that bit wasn't in quotes...it's not part of the letter
  5. Thanks Sidwinder....I guess I'll be visiting the post office next week. Can anyone tell me whether the text I wrote is sufficient for the letter of appeal...thanks.
  6. Sorry about the late reply but this was finally resolved after several more phone calls and they finally honoured the original quote
  7. Do you know if there have been any wins against MET Parking Services at Stansted and is there a standard letter I can send them in response to this Parking charge notice. Thanks In the absence of a standard letter would this be sufficient. "With regard to Parking Charge Notice Number MPxxxxxxxx, please provide full details of how the actions of the said vehicle have caused a loss, or genuine pre-estimate of loss that amounts to £100. Please provide a POPLA number, if necessary." P.S. Just made a donation to CAG
  8. Not that willing...but I'm unemployed and have diabetes, which can be exacerbated by stress. I have to weigh up the options at the end of the day. Not only would the stress not do me any good, but if they handed it to debt collectors I'd be in a worse financial situation that I'm in now.
  9. After already wasting my morning on this and in view of my time this will waste in the future, plus the effect it's likely to have on my health with the stress, I'm going to pay the reduced payment within the 14 days. I will just never return to that particular place.
  10. From what I've been reading about MET..they use debt recovery agencies to take people to court. UKPC may do something similar.
  11. Thanks Surfer. I don't recall seeing any signs whatsoever yet the say the signage was clearly displayed throughput the car park. If I could afford the petrol I would go and check.
  12. I just had a nice surpirse through the door which I wasn't expecting. I got a Parking Charge Notice from some company called MET for parking over time at some services in Stansted....£100. I don't remember seeing any signs!
  13. Letter sent...just waiting to hear back now.
  14. UPDATE: Spoke with M&S. Apparently the underwriter AGEIS had allegedly received an update stating some fault on my part, not true, and they are using this to put the cost of premiums up. I was given their number by M&S and told to speak with Ageis, but probably wouldn't get very far with it. Some advice on how to handle this would be appreciated - thanks
  15. Not sure if this is the correct forum. I took out car insurance with M&S on the 11th June at £25.51 per month. I just received a letter this morning citing an incident that took place march last year where I was hit from behind - this was noted on my new policy. The letter said they were putting my premiums up to £30.06 because they had received an update re that incident. I have a letter from my previous insurer saying they had made a full recovery on their outlay and the claim was closed so how could they receive an update. I assume as it's covered by the FSA this was a financial contract - can they alter the contract just like that. M&S insurance is managed by BISL if that makes any difference.
