  1. I will send a private message to the network later tonight to see if I contributed to the US tax system with every payment received. I checked the HMRC website today and it's all a blur to me this. There are so many different kind of forms and I'm not even sure what category I come under with Youtube and the £2000 ish earnt between April 2014 to April 2015, and some of the stuff you must fill in I don't even know, such as UTR number I don't even have one, yet it said I must fill it in. Also received a random message today saying "UK Tax Return Services" in my email, not sure if that is a [problem] message or not, but I never receive spam and that one popped up a day after posting this. The payments are from the ads and I play games so it isn't mine, but I do have the permission to monetize the content on Youtube by the policies put in place for the said games. I then get paid for the number of clicks, length people watch, different countries paying higher or lower rates etc. I know exactly what I earnt for the entire year from Youtube and the jobs (both temporary on-going work) and it is just below £10,000 if my Maths is correct. The Youtube earnings I counted again last night as Paypal actually shows the bank account transfer in Pounds for every payment for the past year so I have the exact amount and it's around about £2000.
  2. Hi, From April 2014 to April 2015 I earnt around about £2000-£2500 through Youtube and I'm wondering what I must do on the tax front for that entire year? How would I actually go about declaring it? The network is US ran and I never received any forms to fill out to send to HMRC so I sort of left it until now, been made aware that it comes under self employment and I must declare the earnings, yet I have absolutely no idea how to do so. I think the network tax your earnings if you are based in the US and are in touch with the relevant parties, however as I'm in the UK it seems to be up to me to sort it out. Between April 2014 and April 2015 I also had two other jobs on the correct tax code, yet the second one kept emergency taxing me indespite being on the correct tax code for some odd reason. The reason I mentioned this is because the Tax Office actually know about these two jobs with the National Insurance and P45's attached as they were legitimate companies and not cash in hand work. The Youtube earnings were also sent in Dollars through Paypal and then currency exchanged when it entered my bank account and the exchange rates fluctuate all the time so I can't be precise with the numbers when calculating. Anybody know what I need to do?
  3. Grew impatient, waited 4 hours and decided to phone them again. Spent 30 minutes on the phone. Conclusion from his end is that the payment in full should be rightfully mine, will be less with the Youtube payment added for FEB and that my account should have been closed in October, but due to the error, my claim was still live. I asked for him to close my Universal Claim as I did not wish to go back to claiming. Another few billion quid fixing old claims eh Iian Duncan Smith (working for more than 6 months) Unless it was just a ploy to closely watch you, improve figures or force you into dead end Voluntary projects once unemployed. He said he still has to send the details over to a decision maker regarding the amount paid and the amount I've been paid by Youtube. I was reassured that I wouldn't be sanctioned in the future for not wishing to continue my claim that should have closed months ago. I have a strong feeling that this isn't over yet. Worst case scenario is for them to come up with imaginary payments that I owe, sanction for 3 years for not complying and my tax return to come back as zilch :/. I hope not, but this is the DWP. The money for now at least will stay in my account.
  4. Seems I need to wait for the callback. He said they will be able to clear everything up. If I was still claiming the payment is rightfully mine, and they believe my claim is still active, Universal Credit nonsense. I have not been in work between the dates of 23rd January - 23rd February and bonus/holiday pay was paid prior to these dates, but then the second problem is Youtube payments. I was paid almost £255 for February from Youtube. To be honest I would sooner them take the money back and close my claim as I have no intention in returning to The Job Centre, it messes everything up. The letter I received months ago said I will no longer be able to claim Universal Credit... 6 months had easily past. It's all confusing, I don't get what's happening.
  5. Hey pal, I've edited the above. They seem to believe my claim is active. I told the guy on the phone that I received letters about my claim being cancelled. Which he sort of backed up with his information, two conflicting letters at different times.
  6. Is it definitely Universal Credit then? Can they not just take the amount back? Even when I'm not claiming this bunch of idiots find ways to torment me. Once I make the call I'm sure I'll get sanctioned for years, even though I'm not claiming lol. All fun and games. No contact with the Job Centre whatsoever in 8-9 months and now this... Any ideas what the Universal Credit number is? That information was binned a good 8 months ago. Preferably a free to call number as I'll be using my contract mobile. Edit Phoned and the guy on the line was just as confused as I am . Waiting for a call back. Said the reason I received some money is because I didn't earn anything between January 23rd and February 23rd but as far as I was aware I was no longer claiming. No one from The Job Centre have contacted me, I have not contacted the Job Centre and just received a random amount in my account. I want nothing to do with The Job Centre so I'd rather them take it back which may be illegal under current circumstances and cancel the supposed active claim that was meant to be closed months ago. No way am I going back to The Job Centre to sign on weekly/fortnightly. I could be back in work within weeks as I've already received a call from the last job about coming back.
  7. Hello, I'm led to believe this is the Job Centre / Universal Credit. Why the hell have I received a payment when I have not been claiming since June 2014? I received a letter or two in the early stages telling me I am earning too much, after a few months I received another letter telling me that I am no longer on Universal Credit, so why do they still have my details? I finished the temporary job on January 2nd 2015. Not contacted the Job Centre once. Relying on my savings and family to get by. I also earn a decent amount per month on Youtube which comes under self employment. I don't need the added stress of The Job Centre :/. Money is being added and taken all the time so I'm genuinely surprised that I even noticed it. I'm guessing I'm going to need to phone them? I don't want this money, nor do I want to interact with The Job Centre, pfft. Why are they doing this :/. It just complicates matters even further with the tax system. Earnt too much, savings, Youtube income (self employment) and then this... Any ideas? Is this a tax refund? Job Centre or what lol?
  8. I hope one of the experts can wade in at some point, I really need help on this. I'm seriously skint right now. I was relying on this payment heavily for weeks, and then I get it, and it's way below what I was expecting. 23rd December 2013 to January 29th 2014 paydate. It's a long time, to only then receive half a payment. I'm meant to be getting Holiday Pay at some point as well. Are they really punishing you for working now? You work, get laid off, then get less benefits because you worked weeks before? I don't see how that works. Any earnings should surely come under when you weren't claiming?
  9. Hi, I started a claim on the 23rd December 2013 and was paid £164 late January. I phoned them today asking for information, and they said that I had earned during this time, which I hadn't. Looking back at my bank statement the company that I was working for over the Christmas period which in this case was Royal Mail only paid me 4 days wages in my last week. Then paid me the Friday's wage early January. So, today I'm £80 - £95 down because of a wage error over Christmas and they said they cannot do anything about it. The amount it has cost in transport to and from the Job Centre, The Work programme, the job clubs and actively seeking work has cost me dearly. That is without dipping in and paying rent on top, which isn't covered by the benefit system, because I'm still at home for the foreseeable future. Is there anything I can do about this? The claim sheet initially said that I would be getting around about £250 ish for the month. By the time next Monday rolls that has been 6 weeks and £164 in total. I don't really understand Universal Credit all that much but the woman on the phone said they count any earnings from the 23rd December to January 23rd as earnings no matter the circumstance. Anything over £111 is 35p to the £1. Should I really be losing out because Royal Mail decided to pay me my last weeks wage before Christmas apart from the Friday? For one days wage which should have come in before Christmas I have lost £80-£90 just on a month and a few days, not including it all.
  10. Hello, I recently became unemployed in December. Since then I managed to get back into work on a Zero Hour Contract. Anything to be free from the dole was a bonus in my mind. The problem I have now is that this job never lets me have any work. If I phone they apologise and say there isn't any work, if I wait I don't receive a phonecall or text so what can I do? It's an awful situation to be in. As I was desperate to leave the Job Centre and for the first few weeks I got some decent shifts out of it. I was warned when I started work that there might be quiet periods and was then later told by a different member of staff they rely on you for a few weeks to fill the quota and then you are just added to a never ending list full of names. When it's really busy you are required. When it's quiet which is most of the year they will pick a select number who have worked for a while and are able to work each and every shift. What I did then in mid March was decide to reapply for Job Seekers Allowance. The forms seemed to go on forever seeing as I had recently took up employment. Still employed just not received any work since. Got all the information sorted, signed on, had to wait a week or two to get the forms sorted. I have been told by the Job Centre that I must use a site called Universal Job Match. I was made aware of this site before I signed off in February. As I had a start date due and it wasn't mandatory until April the 2nd I think I never bothered signing up to site as it wasn't compulsory. I had also heard the site was shocking and amateurish. I have since signed upto the site and started using it frequently as that is what the advisors required. What I am having trouble with though is the fact that this site is much worse than any other. The first time I signed on I was told to stick with Universal Jobmatch. I did that and I found that every job I apply for the status says received and not one has been viewed for over a month of applying. So what is better about this site over any other than what they can do to track what you are doing? It doesn't seem to be very popular, companies are not flooding in from all angles and the site is truly dreadful. Yet I keep being told to use the site as they are not happy with me applying for jobs on Indeed, Totaljobs and Reed my personal favourites. So limiting my choices is not helping me in the slightest. As I'm 23 years old I applied for a few apprenticeships as it was part of my Job Seeking Agreement when I first signed on when I was aged 21. Not many Apprenticeships around in the sector I was looking at back then. As I was employed I was earning over £400 a week so I wasn't necessarily going to drop down to £70 and travel long distances on public transport as most of the apprenticeships are quite a travel and for what you get paid it would leave me in a lot of trouble. Then funnily enough I received a phonecall saying am I still interested? 2 months after I first applied for this apprenticeship position. I had no idea who the company was, who the learning provider was and what the actual job was. She explained quickly. With what was going through my mind I just decided to say no as a two year course which would only fund me until 24 years old, the travel and the wage wouldn't cover much and I'd find myself out of pocket. I was just wondering if I had applied for this job myself will I be sanctioned? As I've been thretting over it for the past week. Not received anything else. Universal which I feel restricted to don't bother looking at the CV's. The only other phonecall I have had from an unknown number is a survey team and as my number was new then I'm guessing some of these job advertisements are fakes. Still classed as employed just in a bad situation.
  11. This is what is happening in the Job Centre I am at. Managed to change my time slot as I wanted an early morning one, which was accepted, only because someone else wanted a later time slot. Still pleased nonetheless. What they need to work on is meeting their schedule. I have signed on twice at the new time as I only recently started to claim again and I have had to wait for 25 - 30 minutes on both occasions.
