  1. It is quite simple if i do not have to pay tax at all then when inflation rate increased to 23% i should have had my benefits increased by 23% but i only got a 4% increase so what happened to the other 19% robjlee64
  2. :-oThanks this clears up quite a lot but still doesnt explain why the iron lady should state what she did or else we would have got 23% increment and not 4% so what happened to the 19% was this just a myth robjlee64
  3. A further note i am at present on 2 types of benefit eesa which was incapacity benefit before and dla consisting of middle rate care and low rate mobility on is paid fortnightly while the other is paid monthly if you found out how i had become disabled in 2 forms i think you maybe shocked to what happened to me when i was forced to stay in an nhs hospital against my own free will and even though i was entitled to claim from the 1990s i did not get dla until 2000 and had to get mr c blancs of cab in order to get it the dwwp state that i am severely disabled but they are not paying me that rate they have recently sent a new claim form which can take upto 3months they are also sending out a questionairre which states that if you do not fill it in your benefits will be stopped and has words even i dont understand yours robjlee64
  4. :-xDear hunny bee thanks for the reply but i am not sure whether it would be advisable to upload the details at this site because i am not sure whether this is a secure site as i have seen others requesting payment for advice and as this is a legal tax form their maybe further complications:???: Yours robjlee64 ps love your icon
  5. It is clearly stated on my p60 that i receive every year that i pay no tax at all on my benefits the dwp states that as my benefits are below £16,000.00 a year that i am not liable to pay any tax at all however the p60 shows a sum of some nearly £5,000.00 and one of £9,000.00 i recently contacted inland revenue who advised me to contact the dwp but i could not get any reasonable sense from either when margaret thatcher came to power and inflation rates soared to 23% she stated then that benefits would in future be taxable income so as we were only given an increment of 4% this would then mean that since she stated this that i am in fact paying 19% tax on my benefits she even stated at the time that the queen would also have to pay tax Can any one else advise or inform otherwise:???: robjlee64
  6. Update fax issues you should be able to buy any form of lead in relation to connecting from your telephone socket to your fax machine in various legnths from ebay amazon or your local electrical store even some supermarkets you may also be able to buy what they call splitters which will enable you to connect as many as you like even your router you can buy an ethernet splitter that will allow you to connect upto 7 other ethernet devices or pcs games consoles etc that have ethernet connectivity you may also have to purchase additional ethernet leads which come in many coulors and legnths and can be purchased from the same places robjlee64:-)
  7. Thank you for your quick response shelley if you need help with any other pc issues then please feel free to ask:-D
  8. First off you need to check your isp to see whether it has wps facility on router as some isps do not have this function Second you need to make sure that the printer is noticed by windows a simple way to do this is to use a usb lead and with windows pnp system once printer is powered on it should detect it and install it straight away Third you will need to install the software packages that came with the printer fourth once complete you will have to disconnect the usb lead in order to go wireless which may involve using the disc again in order to be able to set it up wirelessly you will eventually be asked to put in your isp user and security key this should give you the choice to either use usb or wifi and should work fine The next step is to go to any other pc that you have and again the process starts again the printer company will insist that you need to put there disc in but you dont windows is wonderful at doing this for you you just go to add another printer select blue tooth or wireless windows will eventually detect the printer the driver it finds may look slightly different or have an e letter before it but do not worry about this as it functions fine if not better if all is well you should find a link to your printer manufacturer whereby you will be able to download and install all the software and latest driver in relation to your printer and then you do exactly the same with each additional printer then again if you share the printer in the pinter configurations network process you should be able to access all info on any pc in your premises and will have some kind of small icon that has an image of 2 people As far as the fax side of things go you will need to follow the disc setup instructions this is easier than setting up the printer and if you share your printer on your home or public network you should have to do very little You may also need to purchase a small usb adsl nano or bluetooth sender receiver for your other pc you again will have to use the disc that comes with it to install and setup this device widows may suggest that it is not wise to install this device but go ahead any way and all should be fine and again you will have to put in your isp and security password now if this fails to work once your pc is rebooted you may need to go to device manger which will have a caution symbol on the device that is not working in relation to internet devices simply left click and select update driver do not let windows do it automatically but instead select browse my computer install driver from list on my pc it should then have the device listed again windows will warn you that this is not wise but go ahead snd install the driver you will find everything works fine you will just have to reboot in order for it to all be ok i hope this helps robjlee64 I work on my laptop wirelessly in the lounge situated near to the router and usually save work to my USB and then run (hardly) upstairs plug USB into my old desk computer (does not have internet access) to print off or scan documents. What would I need to do or buy to set up my own network so that I can print an email from my laptop, albeit, the printer will still be upstairs. Also, as my printer is also a fax, what do I need to connect to it, in order to be able to fax a document? Presumably, the telephone cable will need to be plugged in to the back of the printer? but the telephone is downstairs! I am not a novice with PC but I am not a geek either. Any help would be appreciated folks. Shelley
  9. Dear Smudge If i were you i would not buy any samsung tsst devices at all there are serious issues with samsung plasma tvs where samsung are blaming the purchaser for a fault with the screen whereby fractures appear in the screen and after a while you are left with no picture at all for proof of this go to cnet.com/forums where they have a continual growing list of faults with samsung products I have also purchased many items from richer sounds myself to the amount of in excess of £1,000s and encouraged others to do also i am now wishing to expand my eltax speakers however rs no longer stock them and according to henrik o'brien caulsen of eltax sales department he has stated that the company is finding it hard to get uk distributers infact no one is prepared to purchase from them at all and only hughes stock one of their range and from the way he talked i was left wondering why he even worked for eltax When i first purchased from rs i bought a panasonic hdmi surround sound amp and at first it worked fine but after a short while it failed to function correctly so as i had the 5 year supercover as well when i took it in to the shop they failed to loan me an equivalent model while mine was being repaired they offered me a reject with no rc i had to haggle in order to get one that had an rc with it they did however repair it and actually made it better but today rs are worse than a common basic store and are selling inferior faulty products as 1 case i bought an cambridge audio cd player this had a fault with it from the word go and would not play cds correctly at all i took it back and replaced it with the teac 5 disc cd player which for some unknown reason was cheaper i also bought an elatax rumble sub at the same time but the cd player has since become faulty in less than 2 years it simply needs a drive belt replacing and it will be as good as new i did however source another teac player the same but a recon from cash generator and that functions fine rs have agreed to repair my original teac cd player but first i have to pay £40.00 up front i have since contacted rs and their support and store staff have become useless and apparently i am informed that i have to email their support site in order to get the attention of mr julian richer which in this day and age is not on especially when i have been able to contact mr bill gates of microsoft and he is doing everything he can to help me with faults that i have found with his ops sys The rs store in gidea park romford essex england looks like a garage at first it gives you the impression that it is a secondhand shop and seems barely big enough to fit a smart car in and walk around it was originally a nat west bank until rs took it over they give you the rs info card with everything you purchase they boast that there is nothing better than a satisfied customer and it contains many contradictions 1 in particular is that if you return your product if you are not happy with it then their is a 15% charge as they state that they canoot sell it as new because the seal to the box has been broken I am also a richer sounds vip and have been for many years however in my disgust to how they operate today i have now unsubscribed and have posted comments to same effect as mentioned here as you are requested to do so once you unsubscribe but i have had no reply at all so what do they mean by vip when they have offered me nothing at all for remaining loyal to them Yours robjlee64 It all started about a year ago when I brought a Samsung SM2032MW 20" LCD TV from Richer Sounds. It cost £119 which I thought was well worth the money, as the picture and exterior looked really good quality. I took it home and didn't actually unpack it properly from the box until about a couple of months later when I moved back to University. Almost immediately I noticed that there was something wrong with the television .. I would be switching channels or changing the volume, when all of a sudden, my remote would become unresponsive. When this happened for the first time, I thought it was the batteries and attempted to change the channel/volume from the side of the tv screen using the buttons, but these were not responding either. What was even more annoying was that I could not even switch my television off by the main screen button as this was no responding either..so whenever this fault occurred (and it was very intermittent, normally a couple of times every hour), I had to switch it off at the plug and start over. I rang richer sounds and asked them what could be done, as I had purchased a 3 year warranty in the store. They told me that it would have to be sent for repair and this could take up to 5 weeks. They told me I would have to take the tv to my local richer sounds store in bristol (where i was at uni) - but this ages away and i had no car so decided to put up with the fault until I returned to Plymouth where I have a car. When I went in store they told me that the fault I described was very unusual and that it could take up to 5 weeks and if they can't fix it, they will give me a new one. They explained that they could deliver it to my address in Bristol so I thought it was all going well..until after weeks and weeks of waiting and the delivery company sending it to the wrong address and losing it, it turned up without the remote, with marks all over it and one of the buttons on the side pushed it (like stuck)?! - even worse was, it hadn't even been fixed and there was no proof that it had even been looked at!!! I was so annoyed as without a remote, I couldn't even tune my tv easily - it took me over an hour to work out how to do it. I rang them telling them how furious I was that it was not even fixed and had returned to me in even a worse condition..they apologised and then said when I came back to Plymouth they could offer me a refund or an exchange. I was fuming at this point, I felt like they owed me more than just a refund or exchange after weeks without a television and their errors. I went back with faulty tv and asked them if there was nothing more they could offer me (i asked for a new model with freeview built in for what I originally paid as compensation) - but they said no, and made me pay the extra. So i chose a Samsung T220HD 22" LCD TV with freeview built. However, it was not long until I discovered that there was exactly the same problem with the new television!!!! I am just really annoyed and have no idea what to do - I'm sure it's a problem with the sensor but I'm not sure why it would be unresponsive on the actual TV set? (any ideas??) - I love the television and i'm picky so don't want to choose another make.but why can't they just fix it?!?!?! i am so annoyed and feel almost embarrassed to go in there because they joked how I was in there all the time before complaining! has anyone else had experience of this fault (remote and screen not responding but programme still playing)? or has anyone advice on what I am entitled to (someone told me if it was less than a year old they have to replace it there and then not send it for repair)..? samsung really need to sort they lcd tvs out or maybe i am just really unlucky getting 2 tvs with the same fault twice in a row!! Sorry if this post has been super long and a bit of a rant but i feel so confused and annoyed! If any one can help/offer me advice I would be so, so grateful!
