  1. thanks for the reply sam my initial thought was that i was being dragged into a credit hire fraud [problem], i have been advised to offer them a nominal sum before they instruct thier solicitors and i incur a bigger bill although once i do this i guess i have no legel legs to stand on and will have admitted that the costs where my responsibility regardless of any future discussions Having done a bit of digging around on the net there seems to be a lot of similar cases where by over inflated hire car costs are a money spinner for these dodgy firms ...no wonder they were so keen for us to have it initially
  2. sadly i have no paper work as my records don't go back that far ,although mcm claim to have a copy of the hire agreement. my only hope was that broker assistance would have recorded the call stating that we would not be responsible for the hire costs .As they have gone bust it is fairly unlikely that i will be able to track this down.
  3. typo mgm are working on behalf of ba/administrators
  4. has anyone had any similar experience to us i had a accident back in june 2010 ,as a result of us being 3rd party fire and theft covered only ,we where told to contact a seperate company from our insurance provider and they would deal with any losses We contacted Broker assistance who insisted that we where entitled to a courtesy vehicle ,me being suspicious declined initially but was reassured (via a phone call with one of thier representatives) that we would not be responsible for any costs involved and they would write it off against the claim ther fore we took the courtesy vehicle for a total of 1 week just before xmas where where contacted by a seperate comapny, motor claims managment, who sent us a very threatening letter demanding £700 for the cost of the car it turns out that broker assistance have gone bust and ba are working on behalf of the administrators to recover outstanding money as the result of my accident left me at fault they have contacted me has anyone had any similar experiences ,where do we stand legally?
  5. It is such a relief to find out that others have fallen itno the same trap as we did with NR together scheme our situation is as follows Purchased our first property with my wife 6 1/2 years back,we placed 5% deposit down on 141k and Nr talked us into using the unsecured loan to consolidate previous debts and pay solicitors fees etc 20k in total. Our plan was to re mortgage when the fixed rate ran out (5.9% for 5 years) and go else where and pay part of the unsecured loan off .However it wasn't until the mortgage went onto SVR that we where told the smallprint in the loan stated that if you take your mortgage elsewhere the loan rate shoots up So now Nr can't offer us anything due to loosing thier banking license and we cant afford the rise in repayments should we go elsewhere ,in 6 years the balance of the loan stands at £19700 Surely we should have a case for having been misold our unsecured loan ,our next move and the only one we can think of is that we have a baby due so will take the 6 months mortgage payment holiday we are entitled to and pay some off the loan instead any advice would be appreciated
