  1. Hi, I am new to this forum. I received a call from HL Solicitors today. They told me they were chasing a debt on behalf of T Mobile of £435. I stated I'd never ever had an account with T-Mobile, which I haven't. They said someone had therefore used my name, address and d.o.b to open an account and it was 'fraud'. They told me to go to the police which I thought was quite dramatic. I said they needed to send me something which they said they would do and put the account on hold for 7 days. I had to verify my name, address and phone number (must have had my phone number eh!) so am now worried that I have given them information that they didn't infact have beforehand. They also asked me what my previous address was as the mobile phone account was apparently registered at a time when I didn't live in my current address. I did give them that and they he said 'so you've never lived at 'Penrose Close' or something similiar which indeed I haven't'. I am reasonably savvy and don't normally tolerate nonsense phone calls (am registered with TPS too to filter out the rubbish) but this one sounded vaguely feasible. I was caught off guard as my son goes to hospital next week for an operation and I have other things on my mind, so I probably gave them more time on the phone than I would normally. I even called them back to ask for more than 7 days as I wouldn't be able to do anything next week as we'll be in hospital. Have I fallen for a [problem]? Any suggestions gratefully received. Many thanks.
