  1. Thank you. I have been dismissed but will receive a weeks pay and hol pay (and some time in leu) Back to square 1 again!
  2. OK so have had 2 informal meetings with my manager where she has pulled me up over poor work standards and negative attitude. She then phones me today to say that management vs employee relations have broken down to such a point that there is no coming back from it and therefore she is wanting to hold a disciplinary hearing on friday where i am welcome to bring a rep. I know i will have a right to appeal, but can they sack me in this meeting with immediate effect FYI i am on contract for 1 weeks notice and ive been there for 7 ish months.
  3. THANKS So, it would be wrong for them to turn a performance review into a disciplinary? At that point should I say, hang on, you need to write to me again to request my attendance at a disciplinary and I would have a right to bring a rep to that? I know i've worked there less than 12 months so probably quite easy for them to sack me, yes?
  4. Been there since November 2012 if that helps Probation ended Jan 2013. Got my contract in Jan 2013
  5. Got this letter recorded in the post from my employer (I haven't been there long, but am no longer in my probation period) I did have a meeting where they brought up the fact that i was rude to a customer and another where I left a security door open, and also where my standards of cleanliness haven't been up to scratch Should this meeting not have been a disciplinary where I could have bOUight a rep? This seems like the threat to me Is it a written warning? I have had 1 verbal warning so far since starting in Jan. I would like to thank you for meeting with us on 11th April. To confirm, we discussed your conduct during the incident in Reception on 7th April and various other smaller issues. By your own admission; you have some personal issues which are affecting your work but are seeking help to resolve these. We would like to offer our full support in this. We have put various initiatives in place to make your job simpler and clarified all your tasks via the job role sheet and daily tasks list. We hope this helps you to carry out your tasks more effectively. We also discussed the importance of health and safety, and hygiene in our industry. You declined to undertake the further training that was offered, due to your college course in x that demands a lot of your free time. I would like to formally meet again on 27th May 2013 at 4pm. Between now and then, I fully expect to see an improvement in attitude and work standards. Yours sincerely
  6. My dad has recently had an operation on his spine. He has returned to work and requested a chair that is more supportive to his back and his boss has just said "great well go buy one then" !! My dad thinks it is in spite as he's had 3 weeks off over the operation recovery period. What do you think? Should the employer buy the chair since theirs are very old ad not suitable? Is there anything legal on this?
  7. Sorted- verbal warning only! Boss was so nice and just said she was worried I wasn't happy
  8. Thank u, getting really nervous now. I do like the job and I know I'm good I just hope that I can make them see that I am sorry. I will let all know how it goes
  9. Nothing really just a letter saying thanks for verbally accepting the position as xxxx you will start on xxx Weill forward to seeing you then
  10. No I totally understand I've been a bit rubbish really. I have no excuse. I am not on a probation period though i don't think. they said they would give me a contract after 3 months but i have nothing in writing about a probation. Is that normal?
  11. I have had a disciplinary hearing letter from the company i work for, relates to an incident on 14th December where i shouted at my boss and threw some cutlery on the floor in the heat of the moment. The letter is dated yesterday my boss has seen me loads of times since and never mentioned what i did i thought shed just let it go.......... At the time i text & apologiesd for what i did and said it wouldn't happen again. She did not make any comment in reply. I've only been working 2 months for this company. Over xmas i didn't turn up for work one morning (hangover) I know that this is really bad, i got in eventually and stayed late to make up for it. I hoped they would see that it was christmas and that id made it up. I then receive a letter yesterday titled "disciplinary meeting" with my line manager and the hr manager and they have invited me to bring a representative with me. The letter states the date 14th Dec when the incident happened and 30th Dec when I was late. What I would like to know is: Does this sound like a dismissal meeting? Are they allowed to bring something up that happened well over 3 weeks ago that I've had no other communication about? Why did they send it recorded delivery? What is the purpose of me brining a representative?
  12. It's ok luckily hubby wage covers our payments just will have to tighten up on meals out and buying useless stuff and branded clothes for kids until i find something else
  13. well yes it was because one of my bosses was on day off and then the other was on holiday - they did give me a reason. I am just so shocked that they could leave me stewing like that for 8 nights. disappointlingly my colleague has heard that i would nevr hav even been sacked they wanted to talk to me about a customer complaint and changing my rota (for the better i might add) well ive well and truly f--- up and now they have found someone else glad they are pauying me, i was worried they might tqake agency staff costs out of the 70odd hours they owe me
  14. hi all, Yes I will prob get a reference from my old boss who left the company cos i dont want it to say "left under investigation" My original quyestion was are they within their rights rto call a meeting 8 days in advance..... Can anyone answer this. I know they gave me a reason for the delay but just want to make sure they are in the right in what they have done :s as that was the reason i left and they know it
  15. I'm not stressed at all it wasn't that it was just that I didn't want to wait and be fretting for 8 days wondering how the meeting would go so the only way out that i could see was to resign on the spot. The reason my manager wasn't answrering is because it was her day off and she was at a hospital appt with her daughter so could only text I know i have been an idiot really looking back but i am in breach of contract and they have found someone to replace me. there is no proceedure for a cooling off period I text my manager to ask if i would be paid for what i have done so far this month, she text back saying yes £x amount for 71 hours, i wish you all the best etc she said "I am sad it came to that but I wish you well"
  16. Hmm I do have witnesses to my resignation (colleague) My boss has text me again to ask for my resignaton in writing but she is not answering her phone. I think thats to get me to text her so she can print it. according to my colleagues boss has already sent an advert to job centre website! Think I may just have to start looking for something else and hope i can use previous employers (before this) reference. Can i use the old boss even though they niow work for a different company? or does it have to be current company Thanks so much for all your help youve all been lovely to me i would love to buy you all a drink if i could!
  17. she was the nice one! The other is coming back off holiday hence the delay.
  18. IT SAYS "you are obliged to give the company 4 weeks notice to terminate your contract of employment"
  19. when I resigned my boss said to me "please can i have this in writing" and then sent me a text asking again in writing. so i was pretty sure this is a sign of her not taking the resignation? there is nothing in my contract about heat of the moment resignation it just says that i need to give 4 wks notice. I walked out leaving them in the lurch really as they will have had to use agency staff today which costs a fortune, they wont be happy thanks for the help everyone *tail between legs!*
  20. I have worked for a company for 2 years and + today i was told that i was to attend a disclipoinary meeting over something i have done (not serious). the meeting was for in 8 days time as one of my bosses is away. i didnt want to be fretting all that time so i told them to bring the meeting forward but they wouldnt are they right in doing this? anyway after an argument with my other boss i walked out My questions are will i get paid for what i done so far this month? Can i take them to court over this for not bringing the meeting forward for me? surely 8 days is a long time to wait as i just knew they would prb sack me anyway ive rang my boss since to apologise but they not answering.
