  1. Finally a response from the charming David Howie - see below the email sent to me from his personal email address. From: DAVID HOWIE Date: 17 January 2013 10:49:11 AEDT You have a very sad and pathetic life dont you? I would urge you to seek professional help, or just get a job or a hobby, something to keep you busy, rather than wasting your time telling little lies and telling long tales. Also, all the publicity has helped my website's Google rankings, many thanks, the extra business has been great at this usually quiet time of year.
  2. Update: After five people filing police reports, David Howie owner of Caledonian was interviewed by Maryhill Police Glasgow for three hours. He signed a written statement stating he would give back our items if we sent an agent around to retrive them. Thankfully for us, this is happened and we now have our items, although some things are still missing. Unfortunately for the other four parties that complained, they are still having issues with David Howie and haven't had their items returned. David Howie told one other party, he doesn't give monkey's about the police. Charming man indeed! All I can do is warn people about Caledonian and David Howie. Would NOT recommend this company.
  3. Anyone still having problems with David Howie and his company Caledonian Removals, I would advise you speak to the police. Myself and four other people have all filed police reports and have had a positive response from the police.
  4. Hi there, Its ok now. We've had the police involved and David Howie has been under investigation. With the police involvement we and four other people are getting some results. I wouldn't recommend Caledonian Removals in Glasgow to anyone.
  5. I would seriously avoid using this company. The company name is registered under David Howie's parents, however they have nothing to do with the running of the business. We have been told by a previous employee, this is because his last business went bust. This does not surprise me, given the way he treats his clients. Caledonian moved our household items from Glasgow to Australia. Some items were left behind and our attempts to retrieve them have failed. David Howie refuses to take our calls, he hung up on me last week. He doesn't respond to emails and has told his employee not to talk to us. We have now involved the police, who are investigating. Anyone else having issues, I'd advise you speak to Maryhill Police - they are terrific and will assist you. By the way, most of the positive reviews you see on review websites are written by him!!
  6. Hello, I have read many bad reviews regarding Calendonian Removals and am wondering if these people have had their issues resolved? We are having similar problems to those who have previously posted on this site about this company. We have recently moved to Australia from Glasgow and some of our goods didn't arrive. We are certain the remaining goods are in their warehouse as we were there when David Howie loaded them from our car into a wooden crate separate from our other items. It is those particular items that haven't made it to Australia and were not included on the received inventory list. We believe they have simply been missed, and this is fine, this kind of thing happens all the time. Our main issue now is getting our items back and trying to get in touch with David Howie. David Howie refuses to talk to us, he doesn't respond to emails or text messages. We are keen to hear from other people and how they had their problems resolved? I think our next step will be police and/or lawyers. Regards, Angela
