  1. Hi everyone, I'm hoping someone can help, I recently received a notice of indented prosecution from Cumbria police. I got clocked doing 85 from a bridge when I was driving up the M1 earlier this year. The offence was dated the 13/7/12, but the letter didn't arrive until nearly 2 months later and is dated 11/9/12. I understand that police forces must send you an NIP to arrive within 14 days of the offence, which has obviously not happened here as the letter was sent well after this. The thing is, my driving licence and car registration documents were actually with the DVLA at the time that I got clocked, being replaced with a change of address. The date on my updated licence is 27/7/12. I know that late letters can invalidate the power of an NIP but I'm unclear on what my rights are, considering when my address was being changed. Anyone know?
