Thanks for opening my thread and thanks for any help you can give me.
OK, rewind a few years I was in a decent enough little job for someone living at home.
I won't go into too much detail but fast forward a few years I've lost my job, on JSA and owe about £4000 (at least.)
There is no way in hell I can afford to pay them all back what they want.
Shop Direct are owed about £3000,
Capital One £450 and
Vanquis £750.
What do I do?
This has only happened fairly recently and I'm a little bit worried as you'd expect.
I was stupid I know, I don't need telling.
I wish I'd never bothered with any of them but they were useful when I was a bit short.
A lot of the £3000 debt for shop direct is on their buy now pay later so isn't owed yet.
I'd say owing now is about £1500 - maximum.
This is before they bang on sh*t loads of interest mind you.
Also quite a lot of this is things other people have bought out of the catalogues - but they were paying on time.
You'd think living at home £50 would go a long way, but it doesn't.
I'm left with basically £30 a week after paying my parents some money who are in equally a bad situation so can't keep me for free, not that I'd expect them to.
I like to keep a bit back in case it's needed by my parents or in case of an emergency.
I'd say, per month, I could pay out an absolute maximum of £65 a month for all of them.
Is there a section on this forum with templates of letters to send?
I don't want this spiraling out of control and having the bailiffs knocking.
I want to reach an agreement both me and my creditors are happy with.
Hmm. I feel stupid for being so reckless as it's not like me. - one of life's many lessons, I guess.
Thank you again.
