  1. Thanks sailor and con for your replys.I have since been in touch with the seller about the problem to no avail. He says if that is what the independent inspector has said then that is it.He is not willing to do anything else. The inspector was well qualified according to the report and had alot of experience.I am basically £512 out of pocket for a car i have travelled very little in and owned for about 7 weeks. Gutted!
  2. In May this year i bought a car from a dealer, one of the reasons i purchased this car was the peace of mind from the garage offering a 3 month warranty on the vehicle. The warranty was with A1 approved.a couple of weeks ago the car made a couple of knocking noises and then would not move, the engine ran but when engaging the gears nothing happened.I had the car towed to a garage near to where i broke down.i then contacted A1 approved to report the problem. The garage then looked to find the fault, the mechanic reported that the clutch plate material had completely been torn off the plate.I then contacted A1 approved and informed them of the fault. The man who i have since discovered his name mentioned on this problem thread (Stuart Haskell) responded by telling me it was wear a tear and not covered! The garage had to replace the clutch at a cost of £512 ,i had no alternative but to have the work done and pay for it myself. After the work was complete the garage kept all the parts for inspection from an "independant" engineer from A1approved.After only me chasing the results of this inspection Mr Haskell sent me report that they view the failure as clutch wear and tear and will not be paying for the repairs. I feel totally let down by A1 approved and after seeing the posts within this forum looks like i join a group of other people in the same situation.if A1 approved only want to cover brand new vehicles with no wear and tear i suggest they state this on their policies. I will never again touch A1 approved as it seems the cover is worthless,it is not worth the paper its written on.The fact is i could have bought a car privately and had no cover and it would have made no difference ,apart from the fact it would have been cheaper! I feel totally cheated.
