  1. not done much about it to be honest. its court papers time and with christmas coming up it's a lot of money to shell out in one go. I will get something sorted out over the next couple of weeks though. thanks
  2. Thanks for your help but i think i am sorted now. Sent LBA letter yesterday so fingers crossed..
  3. Definately, fingers crossed. many thanks
  4. Thankyou Dolly I will. I sent the template letter.... My request I am writing to ask you to refund to me the charges which you have levied from my account over the last 6 years. I now understand that the regime of fees which you have been applying to my account in relation to direct debit refusals, exceeding overdraft limits and so forth are unlawful at Common Law, Statute and recent consumer regulations. If you say that they are not, then will you please demonstrate this by letting me have a full breakdown of the costs to which you have been put by as a result of my breaches, in order to reassure me that your penalties really do reflect your costs.
  5. Nationwide have refused my claim for £647. I received a nicely worded letter 26/8/06 telling me to get stuffed ! ! ! From Sarah Watson Team Manager Member Account Servicing Blah blah blah...................... " I hope this has helped to clarify our position and i hope you will appreciate why I am unable to refund any charges on your account. If you have any further queries Don't hesitate to call me. My contact number is 01793 712507" What is my next step???? Would a call be worthwhile and what would I say???? I am quite worried now:-|
  6. I have finally sent my claim to Nationwide for £647. Not an enourmous amount but its better in my pocket than theirs. I have not claimed any interest, just the amounts i have been charged over the six year period ! ! On 26/8/06 I received a letter from a Sarah Watson "Team Manager member Account Servicing" This was a nicely worded letter telling me basicly to get stuffed:( . I am unsure what my next move is, I have a contact telephone number now for this person (01793 712507) would a call be appropriate and what do i say?
  7. I'm having some trouble with Abbey. My DPA was sent 26/6/06 and because my address differed from the account address (closed account) they requested proof of ID. This I sent back ( hospital appoitment letter All I had as I had only recently moved). They wrote back saying that it was not good enough !. So on 26/8/06 I went into my branch with all the correspondance I had received and ID. This was confirmed to be ok. When do you think I should be hearing something back? and do you think I should send another letter regarding this, with a new deadline?
  8. I sent my DPA letter to Abbey some time ago and they have replied saying that they need some proof of id as the address they have for the ( closed account) differs from my current address. As i have only recently moved i have nothing acceptable ( bills, passport ect) to send them. They seem quite content in sending this correspondence to my current address so whats the problem? I really want to get the ball moving on this, What should i do next????:? :? :?
  9. I have recieved all my statements from Nationwide and they total approximately £600. I am a little unsure as to what to do next??? :? :? :?
  10. I have recieved my statements back from Nationwide:-o . I am a bit unsure as what to do now?????????? I am unsure as to what i can claim back? I am aware that i can claim Unpaid DD's, Bounced CHQ's and 8% interest. Is that all? :? :?
  11. I have paid thousands over the last six years in Bank Charges. I am on a mission now to get it all back ! ! ! ! I am also telling all my friends about this site, most seem quite determined to recover their charges. Abbey National DPA Letter sent 26/6/06 reply 5/7/16 "wants proof of identity":? Nationwide Dpa letter sent 16/6/06 Reply 24/6/06 "statements to follow":-o
  12. How long before statements are returned by Nationwide???? Does the timescale of these claims depend on the amount of money being claimed? There is so much on this site to swot up on it's making my brain go fuzzy
  13. I had the same thing but this went on for a few years.Anything upto £120 quid a week, mainly returned direct debits. When things start to spiral there is no stopping them. I was a single man trying to keep a house together for my son who comes to stay at weekends and occasional weekdays. After four years of scraping and borrowing to keep my head above water, I had no choice but to move back to my parents house. This obviously wasn't very good as I am a 35 year old with a 13 year old boy in tow. Nationwide well and truly screwed me over........ NOW ITS PAYBACK TIME ! ! ! ! ! ! ! 1st letter sent Nationwide 18th june
  14. Just sent my request, was wondering roughly how long it takes for them to reply?????? I also had an Shabby national Account that they themselves closed, because of the ridiculous charges they imposed on the account i obviously got into trouble with that aswell. Can i claim from them even though the account is now closed???
