  1. Thanks everybody for your help ill let you all know how I get on with the SAR.
  2. I dont know if it helps, on my credit file it shows three late payments then an arrangement to pay (debt management plan) followed by the default once the arrangement was all in place!
  3. Ok thank you for that advice. Do you think this would suffice as a letter Captial one has lodged a defualt notice on my account in April 2011. I never received a notice for this default and they are not willing to provide this information as the account is now settled. I have attached a copy of the letter recieved from capital one for your reference.
  4. So I cant say for definate whether or not one has been sent? What would I do in this? situation as I dont recall ever receiving one.
  5. The default was given to me by the lender themselves (Capital One). I cant remember ever receiving the default notice so I couldn't try to remedy the problem before a default was lodged. I think they may be trying to find an excuse not to give me copys of the requested documents as they were never sent to me.
  6. I was of the understanding that if they cannot produce a copy of the default notice, its unfair as they haven't sent me one to let me know a default is going to be lodged thereby giving me no chance to rectify the problem.
  7. I have tried to get my default removed by requesting a copy of the default notice on a credit card account that I have just settled in full below is what they have replied. What do I do now and are they right in saying this? I know somebody on this forum will be able to help I really hope somebody can help on this great forum.
  8. I have a few late payments and a settled default from about 1 year 4 months, the default was settled in full last month. I have one current account and a phone contract on my credit file. I am taking out a credit card and hoping to take a catalogue out. I understand one credit agreement wont help but if this catalogue agreement doesn't require anything to be bought on it monthly then its a free positive on my credit file every month, also coupled with my phone and credit card which will be spent on and paid of in full monthly im hoping it will improve my file. Im on the electoral roll, if anybody else has any suggestions on what else could be done to improve my rating please tell me!
  9. Im just looking for some advice as I have a bad credit rating. In 2008 somebody on this forum said, if you buy something from any of the JD Williams catalogs and pay it off in full when the statement comes in they will keep on putting 0's on your credit rating indefinitely without having to make another purchase. Is this correct? If so I think it will be a very good easy way to improve my rating. Thanks in advance to all you helpful people.
