  1. hi, i have had an account with naturally close for about six years and for the most of them have made payments on time.I have had a few charges recently so i wrote to them in october asking for all information on my account and not having had a reply , i telephoned them yesterday and was surprised when i was given a list of charges with dates! i was even more shocked when their advisor offered to refund them to my account clearing the balance. This morning i did a calculation on the interest the charges had attracted and called them back to ask for that.the charges were 6 @ £12 each and interest ammounted to £ 59.44.their service team member said that if i am not happy with their gesture of goodwill and if i choose to go the way of challenging their charges as unfair they will reinstate the £ 72 charges on my account and claiming them back would be a lengthy process!I asked him to put this in writing and he said i must write to them to complain instead,I called back and spoke to another manager who has agreed to write to me to that effect. some gesture of goodwill !!
  2. HI, my son took out a contract with vodaphone in 2010 for 30.99 a month, whilst he was working 4 hours a week and at college. during this time i have lost track of how many times we had to call them about internet usage charges they applied despite him not using this, they said the phone connected itself to the internet whilst he was asleep!he fell behind with payments after xmas when he lost his job .about march they suspeded all services on his number and we were then unable to call them from his phone and had to use premium rate numbers from landline,we were then unable to access any account information online and all we saw was an ever increasing balance.i called them and asked them to end the contract as he had no income thet of course refused unless he paid them full payment of fees till august.august 7th i called them to try to get some sense as my son was getting more worried i was told the contract had expired and that he was not being charged an early termination fee and after a lenthy call they sent out copies of bill from january as i insisted i nedded to check them.more internet charges appeared and this during time when the phone services were suspended and the handset no longer worked.they issued notice of default dated 12/8/12 and then a debt collecter letter arrived dated 30/8/12 from fredpay who had added charges to the account.i called them on 3/9/12 the day the letter arrived and explained that my son has no income as he is in full time college and is not entitled to any benefits,we are on jsa and therefore cannot pay this bill.fredpay say they cannot make an arrangement with my son as "it would be irresponsible as he has no income".fredpay say that they will put the account on hold for 15 days or 30 days if he goes to citizens advice and gives them a reference number from cab.we have since received an updated bill from vodaphone adding a further 8.99 to his account,i again called vodaphone disputing the early cancellation fee that they had added(32.65) and that during my previous call when they disputed saying there would be no charge had still not been removed ,they said they will not remove it and the debt belongs to fredpay, i asked how they can stiill send out bills if they no longer handle this debt, they blamed the computer .the representative was very rude and when i disuted the charge said i suggest ypou get a pen and paper! my son has not been to cab as he has not had time with college but he is getting very, very worried about this and i dont want his studies affected , any advice please ,i am puzzled about the cab reference thing.j
  3. i did head my letter "letter before action", although the previous letter i wrote to was to request information of all charges and on that occasion i sent them a postal order for apound and they sent me info and paid the pound off my account.dx when you say the interest is sadly wrong do you mean they are offering too little as i used i think 44 % .thank you both and there is something wrong on here tonight as i tried to log many times and posts wernt showing for ages.all your help is appreciated and i will keep you informed of any develpoements
  4. thanks for prompt reply ims,i will fight for more !where do i start?
  5. not a great typist but i tried! they have credited said ammount which leaves a credit on the account but i took refund direct to you to mean i would receive a cheque not a credit balance, this in no way addresses the aggravation i have had not to mention the loss of money over the years. no mention of removal of default though and the inference that defaults can be waived if they are contacted is total rubbish as we all know. all advice welcome, thank you
  6. having investigated our records i have noted that a total of £460 has been added to your account due to payments not being received as requested on the statements that have been issued. under the courts guidance the statute of limitations says you can only reclaim charges for the past six years. the usual jargon follows re oft and until then normal trading applies. however not withstanding this as a gesture of goodwill and without prejudice i have credited the 460 from your account. we are prepared to further reimburse an ammount of 97.47 being the sum of interest calculated at 8% being the limit permissable by the court for any interest claimed leaving a credit balance of 342.01 i have passed your details onto our refund dept requesting that they refund the 342.01 directly to you. in ordet to avoid future default sums please ensure that the minimum payment is made by the due date .if for any reason you are unable to do this i would suggest that you contact us so that we can attempt tpo make arrangement to accomodate this and avoid the need to apply a default sum to your account. if you are dissatisfied with this response to your complaint you may be able to refer to fos etc
  7. hi all, due to family commutments i did not write to ace until 27th august by which time another charge had been added!i calculated that they had added a total of 559.60 in charges and 2807.46 in interest.i requested full repayment of the total and that they remove the default against me from the register .they replied in one week and i will attempt to attach the letter i received from them.
