  1. Morning everyone, apologies for not going on line for several days but both myself and hubby have been quite poorly.

Thank you for all your comments just wonderful knowing we are NOT ALONE OUT THERE FIGHTING THESE GIANTS.

We decided to get a credit reference from Equifax, this was posted last week and we are looking forward to see how often LTSB or Capital One defaulted us hopefully 'interesting reading'.

We have decided to wait for this letter before progressing as I feel I may need to adjust the DPA letter accordingly. However I noted that we can go back online to 4yrs of statements for LTSB.

With regards to my previous note for the charges I mentioned it has taken me 8 days for a 'new business manager' to get back to me. She has waived the charges of £105 (3 x £35) for a 'good will gesture' how kind of her and unbelievable as we have telephone banking with them.

    Kind regards to all Maddison.

  2. Something I forgot to mention.

We were due to have a payment taken out of the bank on monday for a loan together with a mobile phone bill. No monies in bank. I telephoned the bank on Friday (16th) morning to explain and ask if they would let them go through as it would only be a couple of days before money would be in the account. Ok will get back to me.

Phoned today (thursday) but too late they had already put 2 charges of £35 (£70 for each DD) on when we were only at this point £5 o/d now we are £75o/d!!

    Will be speaking again tomorrow.

  3. Hi reload, thanku for making it easy for me. Took me a while but got there. Easy when you know how!!!!!

Just sending to LTSB and Capital One.

Hope you will be there for me after 40 days and 40 nights have passed (haha).

    Regards Maddison.

P.S: the icons I was talking about were the ones on the toolbar, but realised that is just for Word and not transferring documents to Word, if you get my drift.

  4. thanks caro is could be helpful but when I get into the template and click on to cut and paste into my documents the icons wont click on? I am just worried that if I can't get into this letter how on earth will I retrieve the spreadsheet which I have already posed a question to.

If I can't get to the start how will I ever get to the finish?

Ive tried printing it off - no good only obtains half the letter. How are other people managing? Really like to know.

    Kind regards.

  5. I presume that what you are saying the answer is yes I have to go through 6yrs worth of bank statements and tot them up myself and then present them.

However, there is I noticed a template letter re: business is that the one I would use first then.

Is it more difficult then to reclaim your charges if you have been a sole trader?

    With thanks

  6. Can u help with regards to the sample spreadsheet I want to be prepared when I get to this stage but I am having trouble trying to get into www.Bank Action Group helpwith...ank charges.xls

It says windows cannot open this file. Windows need to know what program created it?

I am no computer expert and I don't know what I am looking for or doing wrong.

    Thank u in advance.

  7. Hi Paul, we are so sorry to hear that the bank left you high and dry with no way to turn and consequently you lost your home etc.

Believe you me, we have been very close to it on many occasions but struggled through the best we could. No going out socially, no holidays etc it was horrible.

We are going to go for this, you are right the system stinks they werent looking after our best interests at all only theirs. I also agree with having thousands stashed away, when we said we were skint we meant we are skint!! Im sure the bank thought we were telling porky pies.

I hope this all works out for you. Keep your chin up and we ook forward to hearing how it is going for you.

    Kind regards

  8. Hello Caro,

Thanks for your post regarding same. Im happy that someone managed to have a holiday last year albeit under financial pressure Im sure.

It sounds like things are just about to get better for you both financially and why not. You both obviously know to well what its like to feel your drowning and theres no way out, until this site!!!!

Going over and over FAQ's and reading as many questions and answers before I put the DPA in.

    Good luck and kind regards

  9. Hi there, what an inspiring thread. What I like about this site is so many KIND people are here to help you through every step of the way.

We 2 are going for over 6yrs worth of charges and we know it is worrying. It is like a huge net to fall in if things go wrong.

There are a lot of wonderful people on this site and either they have been in the same boat and been successful and are willing to share their valuable experience or they are just starting like ourselves.

I think they deserve a round of applause.

    Kind regards

  10. Too blxxxxxy right they have had it there way for far too long!!!

If we kept our money under a mattress (haha) we would know exactly where every penny goes, wouldn't we but heyho this is modern times.

    Kind regards

  11. WELL DONE U!!!

We are just about to start the process with Lloyds TSB & Capital One.

This site is absolutely fantastic without we wouldn't know where to start. We have over 6yrs worth to claim when my husband was or tried to be self-employed.

We to, if successful would be only to happy to donate 5% of monies recovered after all we thought it would be totally impossible to claim back monies taken (making our lives a misery) in the process but now this site has opened our eyes.

  12. Hello Moggy1968, we are new to this site and have found nothing but a sympathetic ear and understanding its great to know that someone is out there looking out for your best interests.

I am about to start the process of over 6yrs worth and not looking forward to it but this site by way of replies has given us great encouragement to do so.

I hope you achieve your aim in recovering what is rightfully yours.

Look forward to seeing how you get on and take that great leap forward we are going to.

    Good luck and Kind regards

  13. Good afternoon Reload, thank you for taking the time to read and reply.

Going to look through the library now and have a good read not looking forward to any of it but hey nothing ventured nothing gained and we like everyone else thought it was 'dead' money.

Cant thank you enough for the support and thanku for the welcome.

    Will keep you informed.

    Kind regards.
