  1. On the statements it does, not sure about agreement but it should be the same.
  2. She is going to write to them again tomorrow to chase it up. The payment went out of her bank on the 14th and is showing as being received on the 16th on the Argos statement. I have looked at their terms and conditions and it says “Buy Now Pay Later Plan”under which you do not need to make any minimum monthly payments during the Option Period. Provided the transaction is paid in full by the end of the Option Period no interest is payable by you in respect of that transaction but a fee of £29 may apply. We will tell you before you enter into the transaction whether or not you will be charged this fee. If you do not pay off the amount of the transaction in full before the end of the Option Period, the interest that has accrued during the Option Period will be added to your Normal Plan. You can extend the initial period in accordance with clause 4.8. All I want to know is if the Option Period ends on 17th Jan and payment is received on the 16th Jan can the payment be classed as late. It seems crazy to me or it wouldn't be 12 months interest free would it?
  3. She wrote to them.
  4. Hi, my Mum has an Argos account and on 17th January 2011 she bought me a new TV for £500 on a 12 month Buy Now Pay Later. She instructed her bank to pay the balance of the account on 14th January 2012 and the payment is showing on the Argos statement as being received on the 16th January. However, on the 27th January they added deferred interest of £133.73p to the account and when she questioned it she had been told that as the payment didn't reach her account 5 working days before the 17th she would have to pay the interest? Surely that can't be right, can it? She contacted the complaints dept and never had an answer so when someone called her from Argos she said she had had no reply from the complaints dept she said that it was because there was no complaint to answer as she should have paid it earlier! Any advice gratefully received.
