  1. Hi There Just wondering if anyone can answer my questions please? In August 2008 I took out a personal credit agreement for £8000 with Beneficial Finance (now HFC). Today, following a complain I made about phone harrassment (and upheld) they have written to me and in this letter they say that I took out the agreement in their Exeter Office. But I didn't. I never set foot in the office - everything was carried out over the phone and by post and fax. I am beginning to wonder if this was actually legal back then? Thanks in advance
  2. Hi There Having moved house I can't find the statements with the charges on but I guess I can request them? Yes, they have issued a default notice. It is an unsecured loan (thank goodness) Is there a procedure of sending letters that I should start to follow here? Thank you - the redundancy and now trying to sort finances is causing a lot of stress and I am grateful for you taking the time to help. Netty
  3. Yes, I am sure they were packing on the interest for late payments up until about 12 months ago when I asked them not to. Actually the amount they say I owe is more than the amount I borrowed!
  4. Thank you for youe help. I have noticed there is another letter template where I can ask them to write off the debt because my outgoings are more than my incomings (which is sadly true right now). Would you suggest this is an appropriate time for me to send this too? Thanks again, your help is very much appreciated Netty
  5. Hi there I took out a personal loan with Beneficial in 2008. Everything was done over the phone - all paperwork was sent out in the mail etc; I never saw an advisor. To cut a long story short I have been on a payment plan because I lost my job. I have filled in their financial statement form and now they want proof that I am unemployed. I genuinely am unemployed, have written to them several times and told them this yet they bombard me with phonecalls and are generally unhelpful and obstructive - quite the opposite of my other creditor. Do I have to provide them with this proof (how much of my personal information do they really need) and if so what can I send them? Thank you in advance for your help. Netty
