  1. Morning all, looking for some advice before I email M and S. I bought a bed 2 years ago £350 and last night the support that runs through the centre of the bed has detached itself at the bottom of the bed. Where do I stand? I paid with m and s credit card Thank you
  2. I bought my property in 2012, a leasehold property. 6 months after moving in I received a letter from the Basildon Council (they are the landlords) advising me of imminent major works. New windows and doors costing £3700. It's written in the lease that I must comply and allow them to do the job. I argued for months with them. They told me they had written to the previous owners in 2010 advising them of their intentions to carry out these works. I now refer to the SPIF TA6 Property Information Form under Notices and Proposals - 'Have any notices or correspondence been received or sent (neighbour council or government) or any negotiations or discussions taken place, which affect the property or property near by' was ansered NO. Is this a case for the small claims? I am not able to pay the council their desiered £100 per month but have offered a £20 payment with out predjudice whilst I try and claim back from previous owners. thank you for any advice you can offer.
  3. I got my money back plus and extra £100. I went through the ombudsman
  4. I really need some advice as I'm at my witts end. bought an ex council lease hold property March 2012 - By Sept 2012 I have received notice from the council that they were putting in new doors and windows and I had to get new ones too as per my lease. Now got a bill for £2500 Should this have been picked up by my solicitor in his searches? The TA6 - completed by seller stated no plans by council to do anything to my property - Council told me the informed seller in 2010 of their intentions. Can someone direct me to the appropriate thread please
  5. BRIGADIER2JCS - I have finally written my letter of complaint and wondered if you would have time to skim over it for me (only 500 odd words) before I email the CEO? thanks - Kerensa

  7. Thanks BankFodder for such a quick response! I've got all the important stuff in email and hard copies. I have been communicating with the same 'area manager' who dealt with me back in 2010. At the time she assured me this business was finalized. I emailed her again 10 days ago to tell her of this default and the problems I am having, she was in touch daily until 2 days ago,l I told her I wanted to take this furthe and how should I go about it and she has not responded. I'm not very good at writing these kind of letters (Mum will add her bit) so should I mention the whole debacle from the beginning or just complain because I have defaulted on a mortgage or complain that they put the default there in the first place? Apologies if I seem a bit daft, I've never had to do anything like this before. But I am learning fast! Re letter from KPRdated 28 Feb admitting their error and they advised they would remove default - just checked equifax and it says 'no defaults' - So I wouldn't need to lodge a letter to CRA?
  8. I have been directed here by someone from Martin Lewis website. I hope to get some advice on what can be done ... I will try to keep it short ;-) Back in 2010 I missed making a payment (100) to my current account held at Nationwide, before charges were applies I went instantly to see my bank manager who told me he'd look into it and get back to me. He didn't. Following week I expectantly went into hospital for several days. Came home and started trying to contact the manager again. He had gone on holiday. Another person in the branch asked that I send my medical certificate in to prove what I had told them. I did this. After making another 20 calls or so I was told no refund was due. This was weeks later and in the interim more changes were applied. I ended up emaiilng the CEO and others a full account of what had happened. Within 24 hours they refunded me all bank charges and gave me £100 compensation. I was told that was the end of it. 2 weeks ago I applied for a mortgage with Natwest. It was declined due to Nationwide defaulting my account, which I never received any notification about this default. I've been onto Nwide who admit it's their mistake and have instructed Equifax to remove default, this can take 28 days. Now I have missed the stamp duty saving and find myself having to rent for another month until my file is clear. I am peed off to the max, stressed out for the better part of 2 weeks and angry at Nwide. (so far it's cost an extra £2200) And I may ever lose the house I'd spent moths trying to find that has everything I want for my budget. I've given notice where I live and have to be out in a couple of weeks so the new tenants can move in. I'm on my own with a baby too. I have a letter from KPR/Nationwide (received couple days ago) Please accept our sincere apologies for the error caused, and any distress this may ave caused ..etc .. Can I make a claim against them for this? Thanks for any help offered ;-)
  9. Have I posted this in the wrong section? If so can someone please point me to the right place .. thanks
