  1. Hi everyone. Friday, the 17th my Nokia's screen, or at least a part of it stopped responding, and problem was that it was in the most strategic place, just about at near bottom of it where all the 'OK' and 'NEXT' buttons are. I rang Virgin Mobile from another unlocked phone and discussed it's repair as it was still under the warranty. Just because of the nature of the fault I was unable to do any kind of backup, I was then assured by technical team that a note has been made of the system that I requested not to have any kind of reset. A lad I spoke to also advised me that it would be the best to put the same on the form that I will receive in post to pack my phone and send for repair. I certainly have done that, I put that I have made a special request not to have my factory reset because I was unable to carry out a backup of my data and also stated that before they will even think of doing the factory reset is to call me on my mobile and rediscuss it. Today I received my phone, everything was gone, literally. I am a businessman, I had hundreds of mobile numbers saved, stocks exchange portfolio, bitcoin wallet with over 60 bitcoins there. I can literally count my loses in thousands. All that information is unrecoverable. I was trying to at least save bitcoins, but due to the nature of the app, entire access was through the area that did not work, and I did inform virgin media in the most convinient way, over the phone and in writting not to erase any data. Despite that post on forum, I am seeing a lawyer tomorrow, but has anyone ever had a case like that, as I am more than likely to sue them for that. Kind Regards, Luke
  2. Hi guys. I am a beginner writer, just about starting my second book and obviously, these days you need to work everything out to the smallest detail, else people will say it's all a BS. The main character is a contract killer and is only taking contracts from the internet. Main character cares a lot about his identity to remain completely confidential, and so his customers do as well. Customers can obviously use internet cafes to place an 'order' for his services. That covers them, to a certain degree. Now the money part, how can one send money directly to someone's bank account without money or transaction being traceable? I was thinking about bank account on Cayman Islands, would it be possible for my contract killer to set up nameless bank account? And perhaps customer can transfer money like few times via Western Union in cash? I really need help guys Thanks in advance!
  3. Good evening everyone. Nearly six months ago my Jaguar X-Type 03' has been involved in an accident with a HGV. No one was present in my car at this time, lorry was reversing and third party insurer accepted liability. Seems like a fairly easy case. I had a lot of bad experiences with insurance repairs as very often they do fairly good work with visual and cosmetic damages, but when it comes to more advanced / mechanical repairs it becomes a struggle. My insurer, Allianz, sent my car to the first garage who fixed rear driver's side wheel, mudguard and rear driver's side door. I started complaning about quality of repairs pretty much straight away, so my insurer decided to send it to another garage. Paint started coming off and door was fitted ridiculously bad. Second garage, Jaguar approved fixed the door, paintwork is still due to be repaired by the first garage. Same day I picked my car up from the first garage I noticed horrible juderring to my steering wheel. With no word of a lie, when going 70mph it's like working with a pneumatic tool! Can supply a video. I reported that to the insurance company, and now the problem begins that is still not resolved six months after the accident. Car was taken to second garage (mentioned earlier) that is Jaguar approved, they fixed the door but couldn't find a problem for juderring. First garage said that juderring is caused by ABS sensor, and even though most garages like ATS, KwikFit or Helfords said it's definitely not true, I replaced ABS sensor and when problem was still there I contacted Allianz to see what they say. All they said is that in their opinion car is perfectly fine as their engineer says so! As a European national I had to make a trip back home, to Poland to be precise, it's approximately 1800 miles in just a week. Now we came back and juderring got even worse. I decided to to go a random garage myself, pay 150 pound for stripping rear axle and see what the problem is. What was revealed is a nightmare. After stripping mechanic pointed out at bent break disc which was constantly holding vehicle, caliper is also damaged, however it is now not known whether capiler has been damaged during impact or during all that time car was running on applied rear break. There is also 1mm (apparently that's a lot!) space in gearbox adapter to rear axle that is also responsible for juderring. To put this all together. My insurer sent my car to two garages and none of those could be bothered to look properly at the car. That is on it's own quite strange, I rang three garages and just asked what should be done when car is hit in a wheel by a lorry, answer was always the same, strip the axle and investigate if there's any physical damage to the axle or other components. I was then allowed by my insurer to drive unroadworthy car for more than 1800 miles, and all together since the accident I am pretty sure I covered more than 2000 miles constantly risking my life, my family and other road users. Each garage stated that this is definitely a life-threatning fault. Disc and caliper due to this work could easily catch a fire, especially on a longer run. Summing up all I wrote in this 'essay'. Can I sue my insurer for that?
  4. Wow. 200 views and no replies. It seems it's complicated as hell. I tried to get some interest from no win-no fee solicitors. Let's have a look if any will come back to me.
  5. I shall start from the very beginning. Last November I took contract SIM for 12 months that I was quite likely to need in the meantime. Cheapest package and I actually never had a chance to use it. That's actually quite irrelevant. I am not a big fan of Direct Debits so in March/April I contacted Orange Customer Services asking if it's possible to make payments every three months in cash in one of their branches. Lady on the phone told me it's absolutely fine because it's a cheapest package (tenner a month) and I don't actually use my mobile (only about 10 mins and 10 texts used over 12 months contract). Very happy with the outcome and guarantee given it will not leave a trace on my account I made the same phone call to Virgin Mobile. Outcome was exactly the same, note on the account has been made and collection team(s) have been informed. Very happy I went to the bank and I cancelled both Direct Debits. In the beginning of August I tried to take a car on the credit and I've found out that both of those (Virgin and Orange) have added late payments to my credit file. Apparently customer services made mistakes in both cases assuring me it will not leave a trace on my credit file. First call to Virgin was filled with apologies, manager said he will take care of it personally, same day I received an e-mail from himself saying it has been taken care of, they take full responsibility for mistakes their customer service team makes and credit file will be corrected on a gesture of good will. Fine. Same phone call to Orange, and guess what... Nightmare! Two months struggle, tens of phone calls, sent from one department to another, tens of emails sent, result equal to ZERO! I have copies of all notes that have been made on my Orange account, including written complaint I sent them. These few notes pretty much ruined my credit rating, from 999 on Experian down to 590!!! What can I do about it? Contacting them makes no sence! I have contacted CAB, they told me to send a written complaint and they signed it, making a note they are aware of all that. It's been nearly a month since they received a complaint in writing (received on 17th of October). I would love to sue them for that, are there are no win no fee solicitors specializing in this kind of cases? Orange has a horrible customer service reputation that could be used against them (orangesucks.com is the best example). As I say, I have all the documents to support my will to get it sorted without commencing court proceedings which just didn't work out. Any advice will be very helpful. Luke. /edit I am not after any kind of compensation. Any solicitor representing me could keep any settlement for himself. All I want is my credit file to be sorted out.
  6. I don't really fancy showing my ID just because they're bailiffs. I'd rather get them to get the police and only show my ID to the police just to non-verbally show them what I think of them.
  7. What happens. Me and my brother are from Belarus, I have recently joined him overhere to study. He went back home, to start new employment. Yesterday I had a visit from Bristow and Sutor saying there is an outstanding council tax. He does not live here anymore, can they take my stuff? Housing association and local council is aware that he went back home, but apparently he does not pay the agreed rates.
  8. What about the fact that we have no tenancy agreement with that bloke and our names are similar to his?
  9. Okay, here we go. Situation as follows, I am renting a bedroom with my brother from some latvian bloke, he's first name happens to be our surnames. He barely sleeps here at the property, he does have another place where he live out there somewhere. I just had a visit from Bristow and Sutor blokes saying, they can take MY goods ( my name nor my brother's is not listed on ANY documents ) because we live here, and he does not pay council tax. Can they really take whatever they like just because we're at the property which has outstanding council tax balance?
