  1. They said that we're limited to £3000 each as other agents were ordering well above their 'means' and then not paying - we have never 'not paid' and nor have any of our previous customers (3 years ago it was £6,000 credit each for me and my mum as we were joint VIP agents)...we've never been refused credit with Grattan in the past ....if we sign any new customers, they will have a starting credit of £250 (it was £500 before !)....another one of our customers who has previously spent over £2,000 on a bed and bedroom furniture (AND paid it up in full) - has had her credit reduced back to £250 - she is also furious (she has an excellent credit rating with Experian). I've seen various forums around the internet saying it's since the Americans took over Grattan/Freemans that agents are having problems ordering items within their credit limits others have moaned that credit limits have been tightened recently. We've not had any written/verbal communication to say that credit limits were being 'limited' to this extent....Grattan say it is happening to other agents/customers too
  2. My mum and myself have been with Grattan catalogue for well over 30 years - so you can imagine the amount we have spent.. ...3 years ago I ordered a 50 inch tv/fridge freezer/washing machine/laptop/ipad and the bill came to £5400 .. ..i've now paid half of it off and have a current debt of £2600 (which I'm still paying)... .my mum has a debt of £1,000 with them. According to the credit available to spend we have over £8,000 available (I say we as my mum is elderly and I have a computer and I arrange the monthly payments online). For christmas, my children wanted a desktop computer each (to stop them arguing) at a total of £1600 for both (Yes, a lot I know but, when you don't have cash on hip to go and buy one - you have to pay through the nose). Two credit agreements arrived (already signed by Grattan's head office) - I signed them and sent them straight back....and was awaiting delivery. I checked online and the computer's had been 'cancelled'. ..mum rang them and they were quite abrupt and said we didn't have enough credit available (????£8,000 is what then?). We have never failed to pay, never defaulted, my mum is a VIP agent having been with them since 1983 . Grattan have said people have ordered items from them and never paid - so they're stricter with their credit terms. What I want to know is - is my credit agreement legally binding?
  3. My provident agent is a lovely man ....he doesn't mind if i 'have a week's break from payment' - this guy my mum has gets really angry if she asks to miss a week !x
  4. I just have done. This collector visits clients as early as 7 in a morning !! He is also known to take pensioners to the post office in his car to make sure he gets his payments x
  5. Hi - both myself and my mum have got loans with Provident (as we have previous bad credit history) . My mum is 73 this year and is paying £100 a week back on various loans - she has had loans to pay back loans. In the last three weeks - she has paid her payments as normal - BUT, when she checked her books.. ...the collector had put down that she had paid 'double' the amount. When she drew his attention to this - he said 'I've had to put down that you're paying more as Provident would be in trouble with the FSA - you're not allowed loans at more than £50 per week pay back because you're over 70 !!!' .. ....so why have Provident allowed my mum to take out loan after loan ...??? Any advice on what to do....?? they are obviously 'fiddling the books' to keep the FSA happy !!! It's disgraceful !
  6. GOOD NEWS!!! Robinson way didn't respond to the case and it has now been 'stayed' (unless robinson way lift the action) xx THANKYOU SO MUCH!!x
  7. Well, we received a letter from Northampton County Court....they basically state that they were giving Robinson Way 28 days to respond to my defence....if they didn't hear anything by the 4th April....the case would be 'stayed'.....Robinson Way seem to have vanished from the face of the earth...Just waiting to hear from court now .....x
  8. Have received confirmation from court about our defence....they have contacted Robinson Way who have 28 days to respond....
  9. This is getting in to a saga now.....initially the bill for £145 cancellation fee.....was then the bill for August 2011 at £151.51....after having the 5th customer services rep onto this they are now saying it's the June 2011 bill , which is actually £124.11 that we owe....on checking the bill, we paid this on the 22nd June 2011 by direct debit. They can understand our FRUSTRATION .....can they? I told them they owe US money for the rubbish service...to which i got a reply back to say they had deducted £6.00 for any hassle caused ......SIX POUND ! whoopppeee do......I am not paying it....Moorcroft will be told the amount is in dispute and that's the end of it......x
  10. Hi, I posted the defence the day before yesterday and it was signed for yesterday morning ......finger's crossed now xxx
  11. We're in dispute as to why stopped the services on the 22/07 We have received an email from Sky this morning ...they say Virgin contacted them on 22/5/2011 to cancel Sky Broadband and Sky Talk....they can also confirm that my husband rang them on the same day ...however, they are saying he only said to cancel Talk and Broadband....which I know is utter rubbish as I was at the side of him . They are now saying we owe one month's tv subscription at £151.51 !!! How much for one month !! We were paying that for TV, Talk AND Broadband PLus multiroom . They then finishe off the end of the email saying it's Virgin's fault ! I'm going round in circles ...they're not getting another penny out of us !x
  12. I've sent this to them....it's like a game of tennis....the next thing they'll say is that the original cancellation fee that turned into Augusts bill .....is now the office staff's christmas party kitty ! x
  13.
