Hi everyone, I'm new to this site so forgive me if I make any mistakes! We bought a Prestige fridge in October 2006 at a cost of £350, which I don't think is cheap and therefore I was expecting a quality item. last year the handle snapped off the door. The part of the handle the snapped was the metal hinge, there is a screw through it to attach to the fridge door and the metal snapped in a very clean break exactly in the middle of where the screw is. To us we thought it was a weak point in the metal and therefore a design fault but Comet refused to accept that and we ended up paying around £24 I think for a replacement hinge. A few months on and exactly the same thing has happened at the other end of the handle. We do nothing with the handle other than open and close the fridge, our son cannot reach it therefore there has been no child swinging on the handle or anything that could consitute misuse on our part. We genuinely believe there is a design fault and will be rather unhappy if we have to pay yet another £24 to repair this handle. Can anyone give any advice on whether they think we have a case? Kind regards
