  1. Hello and many thanks in advance for any advice that can be given. In June 2006 I moved from my parents address into my own home (which I own with a mortgage). All of my finances were transfered to my new address without any exceptions. In 2010 I lost my job and started incurring some finacial difficulties and since then have accrued 3 CCJ's This last week a letter from county court was sent in my name to my parents address and today a bailiff knocked at the door. The letter was returned 'not at this address' and my father sent the bailiff packing with 'I very rarely see him' and 'we are not on good talking terms' I know that whoever is chasing has used an old address instead of a current one. Should I chase down the problem and correct the issue or an I better off letting the bailiffs do their own job and wait to see what happens? Many Thanks
  2. Thank you all for you swift replies. Pen has met paper, I have issued Yorkshire Water with a complaint basically detailing the points from my initial post. The stay of execution has been completed, and Sherforce have been told to 'go forth and multiply' in the politest posible language. Kind regards to everyone!
  3. Hello, back in May during a priod of very low income (self employed) i fell foul to a ccj from the water company. In August I returned a form whiched asked for my employers details to take payments at source. I returned this promptly to the county court stating I was self employed. With this form I included a covering letter detailing that I had accepted a 6 month contract and would be away from home for this time, there was no change of address but I would only be receiving mail periodically. I asked for communication to be by email or notification of any written correspondance to be notified by email. I have arrived home for one night to find a HCEO letter from Sherforce. This is a 6 page online document of which I have received pages 2 - 5 the telephone contact number has been scratched out and a mobile number written on in pen. My question, since I notified the County Court that I was away from home should a HC enforcement have gone ahead? Also the additional costs double the amount claimed to be owed, this is excessive is it legal. breakdown of Sherforce's Schedule Amount of Judgement £753 Judgement Costs £247 Cost of Execution £112 Charges of HCEO £854 Interestingly the TOTAL or amount to levy is printed as £1726 Which does not equate I am in the process of writing to the HCEO and the water company but any advice or information would be very much appreciated.
