  1. Hi This is my first time on a forum - I hope someone can help. In Jan 2008 my partner and I split and our joint claim ended. I claimed as a single person for the next 6 months until my youngest son left school. HMRC sent me a number of overpayment letters, all with differing amounts on, addressed to us both, around March 2008. I followed some advice from Tax Credit Casualties and wrote a letter to dispute this on the grounds that I had informed them of all changes as required and didn't think I owed them money at all. Also, that they should be chasing him too and I gave them his address at the time. I also asked for all the information they had relating to the claims via a FOI request. By the way, the overpayments related to 2003/04 and 2004/05. I got a letter from them in December 2008 explaining that I owed them a different amount and the years that this was from. I have heard nothing until last week when I got a letter saying that I owed £260 (again, a different amount from any previous correspondence). It was still addressed to us both. My memory is really bad and I don't remember why it got left in Dec 2008 but I still have all the correspondence. What should I do? Please help! Thanks,
