  1. Hi there am really new to this posting and this site so i apologise for my lack of knowledge! I would be so grateful for any advice, info and if anyone can share if they have had the same problems! My problem is this:- I took out a second mortgage for £28k to consolidate debts OCT 2004 , The agreement was that this is a repayment mortgage over 300 months and a direct debit was set up for the amount they told me which is £281 per month. I used the company "dial 4 aloan" who then got me the loan with "first National" who have now been taking over from GE money home lending. I recently asked for a settlement figure to be told i owe the £32000 even though i have never missed a payment since it started in october 2004 (7 years 3 months). After looking at all the paper work i have received i noticed the following:- - ever since it started every month they increased the interest rate without informing (current rate is 14.4%). - after they increased the interest they never increased my direct debit to compensate for increase. - ive also noted that this is unregulated i have never been advised of this nor had it been explained - there is a £30 admin charge every month I called GE money home lending and asked them why this has happened and there rude reply was is unregulated and its down to me to increase the direct debit and basically they can do what they want because its unregulted. ive spoken to FSa who said that GE money was regulated by them 3 weeks after i took the loan and that they cant help me, ive also spoken to the financial ombudsman and the consumer credit advice and all said they cant help and will have to get a solicitor. Ive been searching and searching and i can not find a solicitor that deals with this kind of situation. So im hoping you may know or direct me as to where i can get a solicitor who is able to take onmy case, i live in Essex, I would also like to know if you think i have a case and i would appreciate any info or advice you may have? thank you
