  1. thanks.they never asked me about past journeys or took my season away from me,does this mean they view me as a first offence?my real worry is will they check the cctv to show i was waved through the ticket barrier at station A or do they take my word for it?
  2. Thanks dx you have been a big help.the only thing that worries me is because my rail card does not swipe, will they use cctv to show i got on and off where i said i did. Also if you get waved through barriers without the correct fare do they use this footage as evidene.
  3. i wonder if anyone can help with one more thing.when i was cautioned the inspector asked where i was getting off,i said station B so he travelled with me to there asking me questions on the way like do i have money to pay for correct fare?i said yes.he also asked would i have been willing to pay correct fare i said yes. When he let me go, i rang my partner as i was so upset he told me to wait for him at the next platform as he would be coming from london.i went to the platform and saw the inspector who noticed me and smirked.i was so upset i did not want to be around him as i was embarrassed and left the platform. Now will he think my behaviour odd and add it to his report on me.
  4. thanks for your reply.the inspector i spoke to was very nice.he said he would write up his report and i would get a letter-my question is this.how does the inspector submit his report just by writing up his notes or by also checking my home adress is within my travel zone, and also checking cctv to make sure it matches what i have said under caution.
  5. thank you.well i gave my home address which is within my travel card zone.however i have a travel card that does not swipe i told the inspector this, will they be checking cctv to confirm my journey?i thought i would just be recieving a letter caution for this one event-your response seems to suggest they may think i have done this before and so may look into my situation more closely-is that correct.
  6. when you say find out, what will they find out?whether i have ever had a caution or penalty fare before?
  7. this is the first time i have ever recieved a caution.the inspector checked everyone on the train.he said he could not issue a penalty fare as he was not that type of inspector. I am terrified i will be taken to court or given a huge fine.
  8. thank you for your replies.i have never been cautioned before,so will that mean i am less likely to go to court?when you say i have been reported what does this mean. Why is it likely that i was cautioned rather than given a penalty fare?also my card does not swipe but what is the likelyhood of them checking cctv?
  9. hello please can someone help me. today i made a journey from London to station A and later on a journey from station A to station B. while on the train from station A an inspector got on and asked to see my ticket. i showed him my annual rail card. he said it was not valid from station A as its outside the zone 6. i said i was not aware of this and offered to pay my full fare plus any penalty. he said in this case that he would caution me. he took my details name and adress. Then he wrote down and asked a serious of question like where did i travel from and to,etc. i then signed the paper and he gave me my season ticket back .i know i will get a letter and i know i am fully in the wrong-but what is the likely hood of going to court .would i be more likely to get a fine?
