  1. Thanks for the reply, i'm well aware of this companies reputation & what they cannot do thanks to these forums, that's not my issue. I still owe the money at the end of the day.
  2. Good evening everyone, just looking for clarification really! I am about to enter into a monthly arrangement with Motormile Finance to pay back a QuickQuid debt I owe. However, they have asked me to provide my card details in an email in order to setup the plan (email below) Of course I have no intention of providing my details in such an unsecure way! If anyone has entered into an arrangement with this company can you tell me your experiences? I do have their bank account details from their website, am I right in thinking send the payment direct? No doubt they won't be happy with this, but for sake of my own security i'm not willing to compromise. Quick Quid pay day loan- outstanding balance: £87.00 Dear Mr Gornall, Thank you for your email dated 15/07/13 offering £15 per month from 29/07/13. I will accept this to start this month. Please reply to this email with a start date and your card details as follows and I will set the arrangement for you: Card type Name on card Long card number Valid From Expiry date 3 digit Security code (on back of card) Once I receive these details all further charges and correspondence will be stopped immediately. If no arrangement is made, the account will be passed to the litigation department and further charges will be applied to the debt. Regards, Rachel Collections Advisor Motormile Finance UK Ltd (MMF)
  3. Good evening everyone. I am asking for advice about a loan I have defaulted on which was due to be repaid 28th dec 2012 for the total of £180. Within a day of defaulting i was receiving an alarming number of calls from various numbers at all times of the day. 7 weeks ago i sent an email offering a repayment plan for £10 a month to clear the debt, i also made a complaint about the conduct of their company & the harrassment i was receiving & finalised the letter saying i would under no circumstances speak to an advisor, requsting everything in writing. This was the reply to that letter... Dear Mr Gornall, Thank you for your e-mail. I am afraid that due to security purposes we are unable to discuss your account via email. We will pass your e-mail on to the relevant department for their reference. Please be advised to call our collections department on 0800 316 1414 free of charge from a landline or payphone so we can handle the matter more efficiently I am afraid I do not have the facility to set up an agreement via e-mail. Alternatively if you would prefer, we can arrange to call you at a convenient time to transfer you through ourselves. Opening times are as follows; Mon: 8.00-7.00 Tues: 8.00-7.00 Wed: 8.00-7.00 Thurs: 8.00-7.00 Fri: 8.00-6.30 Sat: 9.00-2.00 I hope this is of help. Kind regards, Lucy Do they really not have the facility to setup an agreement via email? Every other company i have come across does. I really don't want to speak to anyone by phone as i have no proof of what's been said if an agreement is setup. Also the calls still keep coming! and have done everyday, even on weekends! I read you have to wait 8 weeks after complaining to make a complaint to the OFT which is expactly what i plan to do so what should be my next move? Thanks, Craig
  4. I've had a reply today from Ross & Roberts. As I predicted they have ignored all the issues I raised, including my offer, with what looks like an automated response. Below is the letter I sent them, followed by their email. ROSS & ROBERTS REPLY: It's obvious to me the reason they claim to have no facility to make arrangements in their office is so the bailiff can visit me & add further costs. Am I right in thinking ignoring them, & write to the council asking to take the debt back as they have failed to respond to my offer? I really don't want to speak to a bailiff & arrange a payment plan that I know they won't accept anyway! Any guidance would be greatly appreciated!
  5. Thanks for the template! I will get this done tonight. What if they refuse any offer I make & the 14 days expires? Im presuming this is a tactic they may use to add further costs onto my account? Is it then a case of complaining to the council. & explaining I'm trying to pay but they refuse to accept an offer?
  6. Hi people! My situaton is this. Today I recieved a letter from Ross & Roberts civil enforcement agents notifying me that my outstanding council tax bill of £294.98 has been passed onto them by South Somerset County Council & giving me 14 days from the 9th Jan 2012 to make payment arrangements. On top of this, i have also recieved a letter from the Council for consideration of prosecution & request of driver details within 7 days for a fixed penalty notice of £60.00 which i couldent afford to pay last month. My circumstances: I'm on minimum wage with no savings, recieving no benefits other than working tax credits. I have no credit cards, store cards or major loans outstanding. But i'm unable to make any payments until the 28th of this month at the earliest! It's also worth mentioning the flat i live in is a joint tenancy between me & my mother. I live by myself, pay the rent & pay the council tax. But everything inside belongs to her. I've taken time to read some of the situations people have found themselves in & feel slightly more relaxed regarding bailiffs. But what should my first move be? Especially as i find myself fighting on two fronts! I want to resolve this asap, but fear with no money till the end of the month & nothing to offer now I'm going to struggle. Regards Craig
