  1. Building Soc. We now *finally* have the money in both of our accounts and apparently *a letter* is on the way. I'll wait and see what it contains!
  2. Thanks! Yes, I get DLA and have done for almost fifteen years, I have traditionally earned too much for Incap as I am a teacher, although I did speak to them after six weeks of unemployment (they were entirely unhelpful) about the possiblilty of my failing health becoming permanent (as is the prognosis of my disease). I'd rather do the odd day here and there while I can
  3. Hello, my pay didn't go into my YBS account on Saturday. Because of health issues I only work sporadically, the money due in is my first pay for a couple of months. We generally live on my wifes pay, and her pay didn't go in on Saturday too! As we work for different companies, I knew something was up, and apparently it's a problem with Faster Credits ie the bank that handles payments for YBS hasn't passed them on. I have had to phone YBS this morning and after ten minutes with the complaints dept they have now paid £50 into my account. My two months of not working have left us peniless, and this Faster Credit problem has meant that we had nothing on the gas meter yesterday, and had no milk for the baby this morning. I have also had to turn down a day's work, losing £110, as I cannot get to work- that's how skint we are. My issue is how I should proceed in lodging a complaint here. The complaints dept were fine, £50 will sort out a basic shopping trip this morning and *they hope* my pay will be in my account by the end of the day. My main issue is with the lack of information and seeming deceit, as my local branch knew nothing about this on Saturday morning, indeed the counter asst told my wife that it was "sods law" that neither of us had money in, and told me that we should have money saved up to cover emergencies (to which I replied that I was sorry for being disabled!) We have both been told repeatedly on the phone that they don't know anything about a delay, until we've said that we are both having the same problem, upon which they mention the Faster Credit problems. This is clearly deceitful. So, any advice? My health is reasonably good this week and i'd hate to turn down work when my body is actually working! And most importantly, what is the best way of lodging a complaint beyond what i've already done?
  4. Do you advocate another approach then? I presumed after reading other threads here that every couple of years they may decide to go back to the 'DCA letters' again to push for more money. As for my personal situation, it seems likely that my prognosis will mean me working fewer and fewer days each year in the future. I worked about 25 days last year.
  5. Cheers fellas. My income is therefore nil at any given time, they are going to love me, arent they! I'm unlikely to be working until Easter, so i'll have lots of zero bank statements to show them if they really push for evidence - i've only got one DD, for a storage unit I really need to go and empty when the ol' legs allow, no other debts as far as I know. I'll get the SAR and Experian thing done asap, and restart this thread when more info comes in. I had no problem getting a bank account recently (i've just had a non-debit card account for a few years) i'm presuming this is how my address has been flagged up. Nobody bar the DVLA has had my address for a couple of years, i've not been actively avoiding them, but not updated them either.
  6. I'm right on it, I tried to sign up for Experian via Quidco earlier but my card was declined, I think it's because I have a £10 o/d and am £5.34 overdrawn.. Will have to borrow 50p and go into town Do I need to do a separate SAR for each account? Any time constraints for getting these out? Or just asap? TBH I don't mind repaying the loan even if it takes 20 years, sometimes i'll earn more than we need. The o/d annoys me as it is at least a third charges and Halifax showed no interest in my illness/homelessness when I defaulted. Taking money from my account meant I went ten days without food at one point... shocking state to get myself into, living on ketchup sachets and tap water! Now we've got kids I don't want to just avoid these letters. Thanks so much for being here for support, fellow forumites.
  7. Wow, thanks for such a knowledgable and rapid reply FS! Both are only in my name, the latest letters say that the debts have been 'assigned (sold)' to Capquest. it's the same template letter that seems to have been sent out to others recently judging by other cag threads on Capquest: 'If you do not contact us we will... checks on your credit records, employment and residential status...' I've no idea as to charges as i've moved three times in the past two years, and was homeless for a while (living in the car) when I was first ill. When I was first forced to default they were adding £12 per month to the loan acct I believe, and they took out my DLA payment from my account as soon as it came in. This caused problems in itself.
  8. This happened to me a few years ago. I complained about something at work that was making us employees liable for prosecution and less than a year later the top boss found a reason to order my boss to let me go, despite him and everyone I worked with stating that I was doing a great job. As I cost them money, they tried to ruin my career. Proving it was an entirely different matter though!
  9. Morning everyone. I've had three letters from Capquest over the festive season chasing me for a £5k+ loan and. £1k+ overdraft. I've read this forum extensively since the first letter arrived, and have ordered a printer ready to send off the relevant requests etc. My question is this though: is it worth telling Capquest that I have no assured or regular income? When I took out the unsecured loan I was in good health, although a pre-existing chronic condition (i'm disabled) meant they couldn't offer me PPI. I became ill a couple of years into the loan, now two years ago. This meant I couldn't work, and my complex work contract meant I couldn't sign on... long story. A small o/d spiralled with the fees etc due to no income for six months so I had to leave the bank account alone. My current financial situation is that my parents own our house and my partner's income pays the bills, food, etc. I have a car on motability. When my health allows I work as a supply teacher so I cannot claim benefits- it's too complex a process to be bothered with, essentially i'd be forever siging off and back on- but I rarely work. In the last six weeks i've worked one morning. In the summer term I occasionally work for a week or two to earn a bit for whatever we need- this past year it was a contribution to the family holiday and a new matress for us. As such, i'm not worried about a ccj, i'm unlikely to need/ask for credit ever again, but is it worth Informing Capquest that I will probably earn less than £3000 this year, and some months I will earn nothing at all? Thanks you lovely people.
