  1. Hi, im just after a bit of advice. In july i handed my car back to peugeot finance, a man came to inspect it and when i said i was worried i may get charged he told me it was going straight to auction and i was silly even to have had it valeted because it was a waste of money. Two weeks later i called peugeot to see if i owed any money and if i was ok to cancel the direct debit, i was told i owed NOTHING. Yesterday i received a lovely letter from a solicitors claiming my car had damage beyond fair wear and tear and i owed £775 immediately. Obviously i rang up, explained that a 54 reg 206 is bound to have some nicks and scratches as a car is meant to be driven and not kept in a garage for 6 years. I was also informed that the examination carried out under the guidlelines is not done by the naked eye!!.... After some arguing i managed to get my payment down to £440 and paid over 8 months interest free. However i am still not happy, and i have also got photos of my car before it left me. I just want to know where i stand and what would happen if i didnt pay. Thankyou!!!
