Ingeus attended in Notts - I, like a number of contributors on here, am over 40, have a really good and high level work background. But, the job situtation out there at present is horrific. I have repeatedly asked Ingeus if they will help me gather other skills say my First Aid, Basic Hygiene Cert - they are only interested in getting you into work - so although I argue that these would expand my work base (I am a financial, admin person by career) I keep getting a NO! Initially I was attending fortnightly, then monthly, I am now back to fortnightly as they obviously are under pressure to get me into work. I want to work, I need to work, but they are not able to offer anything I can't do myself with regards to jobsearch, CV,s and applications. Ingeus get £400 for every 25+ that is placed onto their programme, so it isn't as if they don't have funds (my funding allowance is apparently £100 and I know I have decimated that by going to interviews in London 150 miles away and claiming back my travel from them). The other annoyance is that they get up to £14,700 if you get work whilst with them (needless to say I won't be allowing that to happen - I will put that when I get a job I am actually going travelling or something). I find the staff at Ingeus young and patronising and totally out of their depth with the intelligent, work hard, highly qualified and experienced claimants that they are now seeing. I have an appointment today - I will be pushing again for course attendance - if I get a 3rd no (and JCPlus have confirmed they are the ones to ask) I am going to do my nut!
