  1. Hello All, To update you all about my case - I did not hear anything from rail company for about 3.5 months after sending my apology letter. I tried calling them for many weeks and eventually someone in prosecutions answered my call. He told me that they did not receive my letter and I was lined up for prosecution. He asked me to fax them a copy of the letter. I did it along with the royal mail Signed for acknowledgment of my original letter. They sent me a fine plus admin fee after 3-4 days which I paid promptly. Thanks to all of you especially old-CodJA, honeybee, stigy and grotesque for the support during this stressful period. Few lessons learnt: 1. Never evade fare and always be carefulso that mistakes can be avoided. 2. A prosecution is a threat to your career, finances and international travel ! so risk is not worth. 3. If you do not receive any reply to your letter in couple of weeks, make sure you contact rail company and get confirmation on whether they have received your letter or not. I left it for months and it just meant more period of stress for me. 4. Always send letter using recorded signed for service and keep a copy of acknowledgment and all correspondence. Cheers - Luis

  9. Hello everyone... I am still waiting for letter to arrive ( about a month now ). Life at home has been a mess with days and nights full of stress for me and my partner. After reading other threads, it looks like that letter sometimes takes up to two months to arrive and after that it will be only summons . A criminal record will have a big impact on my job and life. Any advise on what can be done while I am waiting for letter, will be helpful.
