  1. ive calculated the interest with the spreadsheet. is the daily rate taken from what they owe me originaly or from what they owe me plus the interest?
  2. sorry, im still unclear as to the amount per day. not sure what you ment by *. got yet another letter today from halifax wanting two payments of £39 for so called missed direct debits. i appreciate the fact i need to make sure theres funds available in my account, but to charge me nearly £70 for the privalage is a disgrace. the DDs only amounted to under £20. i couldnt resist ringing them up pointing the law out to them. the robot on the phone was a joke. he said that "id agreed to this when i opened my account"!!! when did i agree to them robbing me??? ripping off b*stards! how long are they gunna keep trying it on? apparantly its up to me to "manage my account". i will when they stop stealing money from it! these penaltys are b*ll*cks. rant over. will somebody please tell me how to work out the interest per day before i gun down the bespectacled black guy who cant sing. i may just start billing them for crimes against the advertising world.
  3. im in the proccess of filling in my moneyclaim online form now. just finding it tricky calculating the interest. can anyone point me in the right direction? i want to get it right.
  4. i going to send a third letter accepting the £1000 as a partpayment only. if theyve upped the offer considerably from the first then i dare say theyll go the full amount with the next one.
  5. ive recieved a second offer today. the first one i refused was for £335. this one is for £1000. they owe nearly £2500. theyre dragging their heels and i was wondering if this has happened to anyone else. if so what did you do? i plan on refusing it again but not too sure what type of letter to send. do i send a similar one to the first refusal letter, giving them another 14 days to cough it all up with the spread sheet? is there anything i need to add to it? or is there a different type of letter i should send?
  6. ive sent the last letter wanting my cash back, refusing their goodwill offer. however, the 14 days are now up. what do i do next? give them a few more days grace to reply or do i need to play hard ball?
  7. yes i have sent the peliminary letter. so am i right in thinking the next step for me is to send an edited version of the LBA in 14 days, stating i accept the £335 as a part payment only but will be pursuing the rest? sorry to be a pain i just want to get it right.
  8. ive followed the precedure on the site for claiming back the charges using the template letters and the halifax have sent back a lengthy letter which ultimately states they will pay £335 as 'a gesture of goodwill'. they owe £2335. im just not too sure what to do next. is there a letter template to send them to refuse this as i cant seem to find one on the website? can anyone help?
  9. hi all im a complete novice to all this stuff like a lot of people. weve just gone through my partners statements from the past 6 years & found that the halifax have gleened £2388 from it in "charges as notified", in varying amounts from £10 to £92. im still waiting for mine from them. can we claim all these charges back or does it have to be certain ones? its a bit tricky remembering what they were all for! sorry if this sounds a bit thick, its just im finding all this difficult to take in and a little daunting like a lot of others must be.
