  4. So do you sugest I speak to them again and bring up the SOGA I some how dont see this making any difference to them for some reason... im so mad about it all
  5. Im actually going crazy with this at the moment. My Dad bought me an acer laptop 24-12-2009 at a cost of £499 (he actually bought two so spent alot of money in comet that day!) all was fine unti we had to return it on 01/10/2010 asl it started over heating and melted the charger and keys were dropping off. So back to comet it went(no problems as it was still in 12 month warrenty)... they sent it to acer. It was away approx 2 weeks and an uprated fan was fitted, new charger given and new keys fitted. Fab no problems. Then we had to return it again on 01/12/2010 when it started over heating, turning itself off and keys falling off again So again I took it back to comet to be told it would have to go back to acer for inspection... off it went again this time it was away for approx a month as acer were trying to say it wasnt the same fault so not covered under the 28 day warrenty.. in the end they did fix it and was sent back to us. We got the laptop back was fine for awhile then we had to return it on the 19/04/2011 as while using it it turned off, wouldnt turn back on wouldnt charge or anything. Returned to comet who im guessing from the paper work sent it to acer who replaced the motherboard as i lost everything that was on there and had to bascially start again. it was returned to us on the 11-05-2011 and while typing up some uni work i noticed it was sticking on certain letters on the keyboard, was missing letters and mixing them up (ie you would press the delete button and get the hash sign). Now the keyboard will not work at all and I have had to buy a cheap keyboard to finish my course work. I called Comet yesterday and spoke to the same member of staff who has delt with this since the very first time and explained how I need my laptop for course work (im with the open uni) and asked about a replacement as this wasnt on! He called me back and said acer want to inspect the laptop before they "write it off" so that I can be given a new one... this would take at least a week I was told and they might not admit fault... im just looking for some advice with this as I dont know what to do for the best now.. I need a laptop that isnt going to spend more time at acer then it in being used as a laptop! I need a laptop to complete my course work.. surley my issue is with comet and not acer so they should be able to just issue me a refund/replacement? Advise would be great right now please as im getting no where with comet Thanks Lesley x
