  1. Thanks to flumps, I understand you feel as if you have to answer for all your colleaques, however trust me it would be nice if they all sung from the same hymn sheet, for depending on which advisor has been spoken to depends on answer given, check the other threads in this forum, you will find it a repeated theme. This is the reason why this type of forum is needed, for if the information given was joined up and all the same and consistant, people including your fellow JCP workers would find the whole process easier and there would be no need for people to have to ask questions of kind strangers. My son was told that JCP would want to see my bank statements, I have not made that up, however we were not told about writing a letter, or could that be seen as scare tatics. However, I thank you for taking the time in explaining a few things, I am sure it will be helpful,I will do further research and see if I can get a consistant answer from more people. This welfare system is only as good as the people in it, and what customer service is it when an appointment date is given on the paperwork by a member of staff from JCP and when you turn up on the written date for said appointment are told you got it wrong. Then have to wait for another week to get another interview, and no one seems to be accountable for the mistake made, sorry does not always make it right or get people the money that the system says they are entitled to.
  2. Thanks alittle more understood, I take it that LHA is Local Housing Allowance?
  3. Hi, been trying to find out information for my son. He resigned from his very well paid job because of bullying and even though he has right on his side he felt he couldn't take his very high profile employer to task. He is single, sharing a flat with a mate who up to now has been covering the rent, however my son managed to get some housing benefit but not enough to cover his share of rent, and had used that to help pay other household bills,as that was the trade off with his flatmate, he also had appointment for JSA but the DWP woman got the date wrong and because he didn't turn up had him down as a no show.He has now had his housing benefit stopped and is not sure why. He has rung them and they are now talking about him paying back overpayment when he has nothing to pay back with.We understand that he would only be entitled to contribution JSA, but being entitled and getting it are different. I have been giving him what I can but now the DWP want to know what the TRNS on his bank statements are and have asked to see MY statements, can they do that, and where does he go from here. He has been applying for jobs about 50 so far in 6 mnths and only one interview, he has now got a voluntary role and they cover his travel and lunch, but only £50 so far and for London is not enough and DWP are talking of using that as income. This is the first time he has ever had any dealings with DWP and is shocked at how rude, calious and arrogant they are. Can anyone give us some tips on how to deal with these people,he has paid his taxes and finds that he now needs the help of the state before he loses his flat, he is just like thousands of others, he wants to work, he has been out of work now since April 2010 and not tried to claim a penny, and when he does he is insulted by these people.
