  1. Hi Barry - no joy with Comet - thank you so much for your help - I will use the letter. I have contacted trading standards - but I think I will send this letter - many thanks
  2. I wish you luck as they never take responsibility and as for apologies, I don't think they know how.
  3. I have contacted Trading Standards again and I had to send a letter to the store I purchased the lap top from, not head office as the previous trading standard officer informed me. They have ignored that, so I am seeking further advice from TS.
  4. Have replied to Andy at Comet but wont let me send!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  5. Hi Clairecee No phone call - which is not a surprise- will be relaying that someone in this site has been successful in small claims court and that I intend to proceed down the same road. I believe they will continue with bully tack-ticks that they will do what they want. Will suggest they replace and then go from there.
  6. I have spoken to another person at head office of Comet in Hull and told him I have put comments on a site and on Mary Portas - still they want the lap top back - and yet again I explained they had the opportunity many times, but I want my money refunded. I told him that I found Comet staff bullying and controlling, especially with females and that I seen the difference when at the stores between how they behave with males and females, however, I am fully aware their treatment with those who complain, male or female, receive poor service, from those who I have seen on this site and in general. I am waiting again for them to contact me.
  7. As with myself, you are meant to be able to have a refund within 28 days - statutory rights. I have contacted trading standards and they have provided advice - and I will be contacting them again about my own case - this may be a useful first port of call. Good luck.
  8. I bought my HP laptop from Comet and it went wrong straight away - I had paid £99 within the package I purchased for their computer support - they had come to my home to set it up and I was informed that the support would continue - or so I thought. They had to supply 3 lots of microsoft software for Word as there were problems immediately. At one point I was told to contact microsoft myself, and they informed me that what had been set up was illegal, which of course, Comet denied. I don't do computers, but there is still a problem in being able to use the CD/DVD - as the F drive operates periodically. I have been back to Comet so many times I cannot count - I have made numerous phone calls - would not like to guess at the amount. I been treated so badly by their staff, left waiting in their stores, told they are closing, so I had to leave, told I did not purchase a package for computer service, and that I did not pay the amount I said, even though I had the receipt. The way their staff spoke to me was appalling - I definitely feel I was treated so badly because I was female. I have written to them, involved trading standards, but they still will not give me a refund. Think I will follow the above person, and take this to court. I noted on a report in the Telegraph and from my understanding :|that Comet, Currys have been giving false advice and that refunds can be made up to 2 years. It is about time Comet became accountable in my view.
