Hi Kurvaface, Thank you for your reply. I am now doing research into finding out the status of the loans and what a DSAR is. I am within my right to ask for copies of all my statements to find out about charges etc? I have lost/not received paperwork and i have large holes in my information. I will post when i have this info. If there are other areas i should research or investigate, please point me in the right direction. Kind Regards, Reeframbler.

Hi All! First of all what a great website and wonderful source of information. I have been reading and reading and i am still confused. I would be really grateful for some advice. I took out three loans with the Student Loan Company [97, 98 & 99]. I believe the 98 & 99 loans were sold to Honours Student Loans. I deferred all my loans every year until 2006, i then moved abroad. I sent a letter informing the companies of this fact. I returned in Oct 2009. When i returned i found problems. They had been hastleing my mother, grandmother and even my mums boyfriend! HSL seemed to accepted my situation but wouldn't allow me to defer again but were happy with a small monthly token payment. SLC was a different story. They first set Bucanan Clark & Wells on me and then Capquest. I have tried negotiating, talking etc offering payments etc but no joy. They even refused to believe that i was unemployed and not on JSA! The people have been rude and unhelpful. I have never earnt over the threshold abroad or since i have been back in england. i have not been in work full time and now am due to be a father in june. i am sick of getting letters every weekand threats of dept collectors knocking on my door. My question is: Can i re-defer my loans and how? Any other advice would be more than gratefully received. Reeframbler
